US Pacing Championship

Last year the US Pacing Championship was raced in two divisions, with WWS beating Aracache in one division of eight (after a scratch) and Bettor Sweet beating Alexie and Foiled in the other division of eight.

This year there is one twelve horse field, with HBC and Foiled starting from the second tier. Golden Receiver has the rail for Andy Miller, who hasn

Sears has driven Meirs plenty of times. He's the logical choice.

Aracache is still open. JJ drives Knows Nothing in the previous race and isn't listed for a Mohawk drive until the eighth race, which goes off after 9:30.

Well I am guessing it will not be Palone or driving god Miller, as they are both racing at The Meadows Saturday night. Palone will hop a plane immediately after the Hambo to head back to Pittsburgh.

George Brennan, Brian Sears, and Sylvain Filion also drove the horse. Actually Filion did quite well with Meirs in Canada.

Cimags reminded me not to leave Jim Morrill out of the Meirs equation.

My man Cimags says Jim Morrill is the best driver in the USA. I think that means Cimags cashed a ticket on him recently.

I'd still like to know what happened and why Sears isn't driving Golden Receiver.  Did BS opt off a few weeks ago for a reason or was there a failling out between him and the connections of the horse?

Of course, if this sport had a one-tenth of one percent of interest from the media, this story would have been analyzed and debated on every ESPN show for the last month.

Sears did very well with Meirs in the three Exit 16W races that followed that, too.

I don't get the Sears off either, especially considering he just qualified him.

Aracache is one for one with Brennan.  My bet is that he'll be two for two.  That horse raced HUGE for George.

JJ drives Hypnotic. Two years ago this week he won this race with HBC (11/1), beating Shark Gesture (1/5), jet-propelled Oliver Cleo and Foiled in a WR 47.2.
