It looks like a great betting race but the morning line is a bit odd, pardon the pun. For a horse that is 0-for-8 and has a driver who is just a shadow of his former greatness, it doesn't make sense that Bettor Sweet is the fourth choice at 6-1. 

I actually like his chances to make an impact.  His trainer always seems to have him primed for the big races and he's put up some game efforts.  Inside post is going to help with this big field, and I wouldn't be surprised if he benefits from some hot fractions like a 52-and-change half.

I think 16-1 or better would be more like it, but 6-1?  Come on.

Won The West is 25/1 in the ML. Oh how far and fast the mighty have fallen.

Last Year WTW was 5/2 in the ML and went off at 5/2, finishing out.

In 2010 he was 9/5 in the ML and went off at 2/1. He won.

In 2009 WTW was 10/1 in the ML and went off at 26/1, finishing third.

Bettor Sweet was 9/5 in the ML last year and went off at 2/1. He won.

In 2010 he was 8/1 in the ML and went off at 5/1, finishing fourth.

In 2009 BS was 5/1 in the ML and went off at 7/1, finishing fourth.

They did a very good job figuring the odds on those two in the UPC over the last three years.

Andy Miller will try to bottom the field with Golden Receiver, and Brennan will probably take advantage of Aracache

Thanks for the betting stats.  However, Bettor Sweet is still 0-for-8 this year and Campbell's going to have to channel a Kirk Gibson type of miracle to get him home on top.  Still thinking of him being a bigger price and an exotics consideration.

Hard to believe but the second tier might prove beneficial to Foiled.  I can see him getting away 7th or 8th early and follow whoever goes after Golden Receiver first.  Sure beats having the 9 or 10 hole.

Eye On Meadowlands

There are all kinds of wagering opportunities on the Hambletonian
day card at the Meadowlands, and with full fields
galore even the WPS pools will be enticing. There are 10-
cent superfectas on every race, and a chance for a nice getaway
on the card as the last race offers a Super High 5 (pick
the first five finishers) with just a five-percent takeout.
A $25,000 guaranteed Pick-5 kicks off the 15-race card, followed
by a $50,000 guaranteed Pick 5 beginning in Race 8,
the Peter Haughton Memorial Trot. There is also a Pick 6 that
begins in Race 4.

There are two Pick 4s, the first beginning in Race 6 that has
a $50,000 guarantee and includes a trio of 2-year-old finals
and the Invitational Trot. A second Pick 4
