Wow. The American Dream stays alive. Husband started a business, worked hard and succeeded. She started a small business (basically farming) and helps out. I was expecting an article on how a combo of Food Stamps, Unemployment, Extreme Couponing and Weekly Garage Sales kept them going.
Seriously, this is not that much different from what happened to me when Northfield let me go. I took a part-time business full-time, and started another. I interviewed a lot and applied for dozens more and got nothing. (HHYF is a contract part-time position, a "client" for my consulting business). There were a couple weeks where some unemployment kicked in, yes. But 2011 ended up being a good year and 2012 is going to be even better, quite possibly my best ever. 2013 has more work on the books for the first half of the year than 2012.
