Totally agree. Woodbine is traditionally a speed biased track...and with the inability of drivers to rate horses and bring them up in the outer flow, there is very little forward movement until they turn for home, when it's often too late.
Sometimes it plays like a half-miler. You have to give thought as to who is going to leave, what order they will fall into at the first turn, and how fast did the first quarter go.
Reading Woodbine past performances is so much different than reading the Meadowlands. Often I go back and look at "drivers intent" in a horse's previous race to determine whether the driver thought he had a "live one" or not.
