"Cheap Gas"
« on: March 17, 2012, 06:36:22 AM »
As gas prices rush toward historic highs, use the following site to find the best prices near you.

By Fall, we will be saying "Remember when gas was only $4.89 a gallon?  Thanks Mr President, but I'm still not buying an electric car.   Your policy to raise the price of gas is one of the few that is working.

The Republicans are hoping so. The only way I get off my ass and vote this year is if there is some Miracle and Santorum is the nominee, then I run right out and vote for Obama

There was a movie made about this, it was called "Death Wish".  You should go vote  even if it's for Obama.  I really don't know why anyone would not believe Obama's stated desire to raise the price of gas to support his "green" agenda.   Of course, the rare minerals needed to make the batteries for his electric cars cause more damage to the environment when they are mined than burning gasoline. With their extremely limited range, electric cars are just not practical .  We have the largest natural gas deposits in the world and vehicles can run on natural gas.  It is very clean to burn but there is a problem.  You have to drill to get it out of the earth.  We know our President doesn't like that idea.   Here in Illinois, Republican votes don't count since Obama will win the state no matter whom the Republican nominee is.  As for me, I'd rather vote for Perez Hilton for president than Obama.

Paid $3.71 at our local Kroger store yesterday.
Barry may not have any control over the increase in prices recently (although that is doubtful) he has certainly shown zero leadership in contesting the trend. He wanted higher energy prices when he came to the White House, he got'em and now he is lost when he tries to find a solution.

On our trip to Bristol,TN we saw reg. unleaded as low as $3.48... got back to IL to find it at $4.04. Thank you Quinnochio and Speaker Madigan. (insert flipping bird)

Easy to see how Obambi rose to be the cream of the crop in IL. Gov Quinn doesn't have the brains to operate a postage stamp.

Well after paying $4.59 in  Crook County last month , it is nice to see Dupage is @ $4.06 and out near Dekalb it is $3.92. I was doubting I would see under $4.00 a gallon again.

I don't think they eealize people will drive less when it's over $4 , we do less shopping , going out to dinner , seeing our horses at the farm.
The only bad thing is, it cost me more to go to that stupid job that hasn't given us a raise since 2007 shootme

My diesel p/u recently started getting poorer fuel mileage, so I asked my son (he's a diesel mechanic) if he'd take a look at it. He asked if I'd been putting bio-diesel in it, and I said yes. He said, "It's not the truck... the govmt allowed the permissable amount of ethanol content to rise from 5% to 20%, and it doesn't have the efficiency that oil-based diesel does. You're better off to buy truckstop fuel at a higher price that contains no ethanol, and it's easier on your engine."
