The problem with the Burke's is the PERCEPTION of wrong doing because of the Money won and High number of winners.....but this is FLAWED, due to the fact that he has SO MANY horses.....Below is his WIN Percentage, followed by some OTHER Trainers in 2012.

Ron Burke   220-55 = 25%

Dylan Davis  82-23 = 28%
Peter Pellegrino 61-19 = 31%
Tim Brown 36-16 = 44%
Joe Periera 59-16 = 27%
John Mungillo 44-16 = 36%
Kimberly Asher 43-14 = 32%

You'll notice ALL these trainers have BETTER Win percentages...Funny thing is...we don't hear about any of THEM being called SUPER Trainers...........

There ya go.  but these facts don't make news or gossip so it is ignored.   .......  I just hope someday I have a horse good enough for the Burke brigade to buy $$$$$$$$  ;)

You make some good points in your post Gallo.

The perception that Burke is totally clean is also flawed to some extent. He has had his share of infractions along the way, minor, for some people, though it may be. An infraction is an infraction and is a blot on a trainers resume.

When Rene Allard, a high % trainer from Ontario, Canada invaded the Meadowlands and started winning races there was there were a lot of buzzes and a lot of eyebrows were raised every time his horse won. When one of his horses came up positive for high testosterone  levels, the uproar could be heard from New Jersey to Canada. Nothing much came off that positive as he never served a suspension.

Here are some of Burke's infractions, a few of many I am sure that I could find on the www.

I can speak to Tim Brown as he trains out here at Cal Expo.  Tim trains exclusively for KC Carvalho, who has plenty of money and plenty of horses.  All are classified where they belong, and if they don't do well in a higher class, they are quickly dropped to where they should win.  I am sure it is the same thing with the Burke's on a much larger scale.  Hell, look at my trrainer, 13-4-3-5, only one starter since Jan 1 that did not hit the board.  No shenanigans going on, I know how well they take care of the few horses they have, and how the horses have been thriving.  Sometimes a little money for care goes a looonnngggg way!

Who is your trainer?  I'm not a Calx guy so I don't know your stats.

Bruce Ranger was my trainer here at PPK & he has always had a great win %.  Also has the reputation of being squeaky clean since he got sober many years ago.  Great person too; the best!

Steve Wiseman.  Great guy, great driver... worked for Joe Anderson for many years in Chicago.

Been in beautiful northern California for 18 months!  Steve is a great driver and would do well anywhere he goes.  He is a native Californian, so he won't be going anywhere though.
