So simple .  what's not to get?  A whack across the back with a book or a yard stick and we didn't have to be told twice.

I got hit in the head by a flying chalkboard eraser once. My crime? Sleeping in my sixth grade class. 

I think that chalk dust ruined my lungs for life too.

In sixth grade I got a tri-corner ruler across my knuckles for tearing my girlfriend's blouse, who was sitting in front of me.   I'll have to google her and she what became of her. ( my last ex from Ohio became a nun, and she wasn't even Catholic when we were together.  This has left me goggle shy.)

[Just Saying]

My 1st 4 grades were in St Mary's Catholic School. I got a great early education from those Nuns, and was not given one ounce of slack. And I'll guarantee I never went home and told Mom or Dad that I got smacked at school, or I would have been in more trouble at home.

That foundation helped me raise a couple of good children. I hope they pass it on.

I would have no problem sending kids that start causing trouble as early as the 2nd grade to go to a junior boot camp a couple of days to teach them some respect and also boost their self confidence.
