Exactly, I don't believe anyone has said he is not a wonderful human being, he obviously is, and very true to his roots and upbringing.....

He's just not an NFL Quarterback.....which is not a bad thing

For the life of me, I can't understand the hatred toward Tebow by some people. (many are fans of teams eliminated WAYYY before Denver)

Love him or hate him, He's good for the NFL.

Here's why so many of us pull against him, nevermind "hate".   Simply put, Americans don't want to be told by anyone, much less a football player, what religion we should choose.  The world has suffered far too many wars in the name of religion.  So go to church, listen to your preacher, imam or rabbi on religion but keep it away away from actors, entertainers and  the NFL.

I don't hate him but I do pull against him.  As a QB, he is obviously a nothing who found a perfect storm of games but the team was 1-4 in the first 5 games when he took over & they ended the season with the same 1-4 over the last 5 games.

I don't remember him telling anyone what religion they should be, just stating his own faith. I'm pretty sure he's not advocating for a crusade, with murder & torture. I'd feel the same if he was a fine upstanding Jew, Muslim, Hindu, Buddhist, Morman, etc.

The US Constitution says that we are all allowed the right to choose whatever religion (or lack thereof) as we believe. I just can't understand what makes Tebow so scary to so many people for his beliefs... hell, he's just a kid in his NFL rookie season that's not ashamed to be a Christian. Big deal.

It isn't the dark ages where we have to worry about marauding crusaders........the ole excuse is long wore out...........in fact the worlds (America's) woes are created and perpetuated by those who appear to be godless.

I have not heard the kid once tell me I was rotting in hell for not being "his kind" of Christian.
While we do not need pro athletes telling us how to live our lives, this is one who spends time with those less fortunate then him, as a personal choice, whether after his biggest wins or his worse losses. We could do a lot worse than pull for him.
I guess we should  have been pulling for that fine Findlay native, Ben Roethlisberger. There is a fine, upstanding citizen.

He has been on TV & radio advocating that people need to accept Jesus which I totally resent, as an American & a Jew.  And there certainly are plenty of Jews who have been murdered based solely on their beliefs. 

Amy, to think or state that this "It isn't the dark ages where we have to worry about marauding crusaders" is so ignorant, I cannot believe you or any American can possibly think that.  Considering our "war on terror", which will go for many more decades, Iran's desire to wipe out the Jewish state, Muslims screaming vows of hatred toward all of us "infidels", what would you consider that?  And if you need your children watching actors, entertainers or sportsmen bow themselves then you may want to reconsider the strength of your messaging to them.  Based on your posts, I do not believe for a second that you've taught your children wrong in any way nor do I believe that they need to watch others to gain values.

I never said anything about "all Muslims" but the fanatical ones know for a certainty that you & I are infidels.  The fanaticals are the ones I'm worried about and Tebow does fit that bill and he advertises himself urging others to follow him. 

And there are plenty of religious fanaticals in the sports world & entertainment world who we never hear from or see a religious anything from.  That's how it should be.

BTW, I know Tebow is a good person & don't wish him harm.  But I cannot root for him as a player, that's all.

Did you really just read what you typed? AYFKM?? The Broncos had the most rushing yards in the league this year. Not an average offensive line. And better than Romo??? Really? Romo with the broncos team as is, with the schedule they played,would of won 10 games easy!!!

Seriously, Reggie White was Tim Tebow before anyone knew who Tim Tebow was. He did more in his lifetime than Tebow could imagine ( Reggie could actually play and was in the league for 14 years and made enough money to do what he did, Tebow won't) But he was never put on a pedestal like Tebow and why was that, oh yeah he was Black....

Just for everyone's knowledge, this wasn't Tebow's rookie year, just for the record. I could care less about his praying, it doesn't bother me. However I am extremely bummed if I bet the broncos and they fall behind because I know I am dead in the water. His passing ability just sucks.

Exactly, and that is what this thread originally started out as. That he wasn't an NFL QB. Nobody was hating on him for what he believes in and that he wasn't a good guy, but, that is what it turned into. Shocker
