Ouch: Social critic calls Clinton ‘utterly corrupt,’ ‘incompetent,’ ‘soulless’

Hillary Clinton makes a point during panel discussion
Feminist academic and social critic Camille Paglia certainly isn’t buying Democratic presidential hopeful Hilary Clinton’s attempts to convince American women she’s the best choice for 2016.

During an interview with Spiked, the renowned professor of media studies and humanities said she couldn’t understand “why people don’t lay a glove” on Clinton simply because she’s a woman.

“The woman has never succeeded in any job, she’s created chaos after chaos, including now all of North Africa spilling its refugees into Europe, and it’s due to Hillary for taking out Gaddafi and not thinking about what would happen afterward,” she said.

“I think she’s absolutely soulless,” Paglia added. “I think she’s incompetent.”

Paglia said if the Democratic Party were interested in putting a qualified female candidate in the 2016 presidential contest Sen. Dianne Feinstein or House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi would both have been better choices.

Paglia, who said she supports Sen. Bernie Sanders, also suggested that Vice President Joe Biden would have been a better Democratic frontrunner than Clinton.

“I would vote for Biden, even though he’s kind of dim,” she said. “He’s a dim bulb, shall we say, but he’s a decent guy and kind of a mensch … People like him, and he’s experienced. He knows the world. He has international connections.”

Beyond discussing presidential politics, Paglia touched on several other topics throughout the wide-ranging interview, including modern feminism and millennials.

“They think of the world as basically their playpen. They’ve been raised in a bourgeoisie buffer. They’ve been raised wrapped in cotton. I think it goes back to their removal from the old working-class realities of life,” she said of the young people on college campuses today.

Paglia also slammed Lena Dunham, the HBO star who has come to represe modern feminist culture.

“The way she presents herself physically, it’s like: ‘Look I’m just presenting myself exactly as I am… The implied blame [is] that ‘If you find me ugly, you don’t understand. I am woman, as she is, and you are sexist!’ I’m sorry, no. You’re just a big pile of pudding!”

In an age where the gospel of the American left preaches against criticism, Paglia’s observations are refreshing even if you don’t agree with all of her political positions. Watch a full video of her interview below:
