O/T Bluray
« on: December 30, 2011, 01:37:46 AM »
It's really not off-topic as my interest is focused upon the horses ;-))

I'm considering adding a Bluray burner to my computer because of the larger data capacity (10-times more than DVD's).

I'm curious as to how many people have Bluray players on their computers?

Thanks  in advance.

I do not, but when I get a laptop next year I hope to get one on it.

I noticed newegg had one for $50 after a $40 mail in rebate not too long ago.

Jeremy,
The Bluray readers, with the capability to "burn" CD's and DVD's are in the $50 range (some even cheaper).

For the Bluray "burners" there are diverse options, quality and prices. Even compatibility based upon the quality of the video card within your computer, however my own interest is not in utilizing the Bluray video at all. Rather the expanded data storage capability.

MEI Microcenter seems to offer a variety.
