Great Las Vegas Story
« on: July 05, 2015, 02:56:31 PM »
Just heard this story this morning. A drunk Mexican gentleman was playing blackjack in a major Las Vegas casino this morning. He was obnoxious, rude, and very cheap. Reportedly he won $27,000. Of course, he gave his dealers nothing (a HUGE mistake on his part, as any decent dealer could have told him how to avoid the following situation).

He went over to the casino cage to cash out his $27,300 and the cashier asked for an i.d. so she could fill out the required IRS paperwork. "He started yelling, "I am not showing any f**king i.d., just give me my f**king money!"

The casino security desk is located next to the cashier and security immediately got involved, trying to calm the man down. He was throwing a fit about getting his 'f**king money'. Apparently surveillance called down and the man was recognized on facial recognition software as being someone who was previously banned from ever entering any casino owned by the corporation that owns the casino he won the $27,000 in.

Security escorted the man out to the taxi area and he went nuts again, screaming that this 'f**king casino would not pay him his f**king money'. He started throwing his chips all over the taxi area-$500 chips were flying in all directions! At this point, he was handcuffed and taken back to a holding cell in said casino. Metro police were called and the casino wanted to charge the man with trespassing.

Surprise, surprise, surprise! Turns out the man was in the USA illegally and also had criminal arrest warrants out on him. He is now comfortably resting in the Clark County Jail....awaiting his return trip to Mexico, after his court proceedings.

Oh and about the $27,000-the casino cannot legally pay the man unless he produces an i.d.

Imagine starting your day winning $27,000, then being an asshole catches up to you and you not only go to jail, but after getting released from American jail following your criminal trial, you know you are being deported back to Mexico....broke.

Is the answer to cash in multiple trips to the cage?

What's the IRS limit on a chip cash-in?

What if he had a 25k buy-in?

Cool, but I liked your New Years Eve story a few years ago when someone tried to reach over your roulette wheel.

They only send in a notice to the IRS if you cash out for $10,000 or higher, despite the buy in.

The IRS usually does nothing with the information, but they certainly can use it against you if they wanted to.

And yes, multiple trips to the cage would be exactly what a sharp person would do. Even better, get several friends to help you cash out.

I got another version of the story today. Supposedly the guy came back and showed his i.d. and cashed out for $11,500. He only won $23,000 and not 27,000 like I was told on Sunday.

The guy today told me that the player gave half to some woman who never cashed the chips yet. But he also said the guy did not go to jail. I don't know who to believe now.

27k in $100 bills. imagine trying to stick that is your wallet or shirt pocket ;)
My flimsy a-s-s trifold wallet only holds about fifteen bills comfortable.
