Americans love a winner and that's not the Dallas Cowboys these days. The team from deep in the Republic of Texas has been replaced as the nation's most popular team.

Aaron Rodgers' Super Bowl-winning Green Bay Packers were picked by 22 percent of voters as their favorite team in the NFL, according to Public Policy Polling's newest national survey. The Cowboys finished second, with 11 percent of the vote, followed by the Bears, Giants and Steelers.

NFL Films famously gave the Cowboys the title of "America's Team" in a 1978 highlight film. The program opened up with this intro: "They appear on television so often that their faces are as familiar to the public as presidents and movie stars. They are the Dallas Cowboys, America's Team."

A generation later, Dallas was actually picked as America's least favorite NFL team. The Cowboys got 22 percent of the negative vote, beating out the Chicago Bears' 8 percent and Green Bay's 7 percent for the title.

This was a bi-partisan pigskin vote: Republicans (60 percent), Democrats (44 percent) and independents (44 percent) all picked the Packers over the Cowboys.

Some of these newbe Packer fans are a little nuts. dorkusinterruptus dorkusinterruptus

I was looking at the voting for the ProBowl and there were 3-4 Packers on defense who were leading the league in voting. at their positions.
Besides Woodson and maybe Matthews but 3-4 guys on defense ?

Rodgers was leading all players with Brady 2nd.

Don't you just love the bandwagon jumpers?

In 1985 when the Bears were tops, folks were wearing Bears garb.

They're aren't many White Sox fans in this area, but in 2006 when they were great, everybody was walking around in brand new Sox gear.

The year Indy won The Super Bowl, they were all wearing new Colts stuff.

If the Pack gets there this year they'll inherit these phonies.

I'll just stick to my Cowboys & Redbirds.
Somewhere in Kenya a village is missing it's idiot.

Oddly enough, nobody liked the Pats...even during their near-perfect season.   rflmao1

The Patriots knuckled the Packers last year and they'll do it again this time around if they meet in Indy. Tom, Wes, Gronk and Aaaron will have that sorry looking defense gasping for air.

The Packers with  the MIGHTY MATT FLYNN at QB put up 27 pts against NE vaunted defense.Rodgers sat out the game with a concussion. In the last 3 games the Patriots have given up over 20 pts a game vs Orlovsky Grossman and Tebow at QB.

HOW MANY POINTS DO YOU THINK RODGERS WILL PUT UP ?

BETTER CHECK WITH STATE FARM AND GET YOURSELF A DISCOUNT DOUBLE CHECK BEFORE YOU MAKE ANY WAGERS !

That pathetic performance against the woeful Chiefs and Kyle Orton was a sad sight to behold, while Belichick and company were carving up the Broncos in the thin air at Mile High, no less. I

Mr. Rodgers has been less than ordinary lately, while Brady has continued to play at a very high level. If that scrub Josh McCown outdoes Aaron on Sunday

If New England and The Packers meet in the Super Bowl it will be the highest scoring super bowl ever cause both of those defense's suck!!! And I am sure it would be the first super bowl the the 31st and 32 ranked defense would meet each other. The Patriots pass defense is the worst I have ever seen

Tom Terrific--the unanimous choice for MVP last season--would drop a hundred on them.

17 of 35 for 235 yards against the Chiefs--those are Dan Orlovsky numbers.
