Meadowlands Sat Night!
« on: January 14, 2015, 10:24:27 PM »
In the Escort series, all of a sudden, we get an 11 horse field going a mile and an eight after the dumb ass mile and an eight fifth race. WTF???? So now there are two of these dumb ass races and there is another division of the escort later in the card that goes a mile!!!!. Same purse for both legs how the f**k can any idiot running a track justify this? Oh wait, its DZ and he knows everything, just ask him..... Ass

These mile and an eighth races are a total joke. Now you have a series and don't run the races at the same distance? The one thing I always tell people who ask me why I love harness over the thoroughbreds is that all the races are the same distance. Don't have to worry if a horse can stretch out from 6 furlongs to a mile, a mile to a mile and an eighth, a mile and an eighth to a mile and a quarter....and now these idiots at the Meadowlands do this. The pick 5 and the early pick 4 are a pass every night now unless I can use an all in these races. None of these horses have a history of racing this far, with the 12 horse fields horses are locked in the whole mile from the start, horses are parked the mile without a chance of seeing the rail. It's just shit racing. Thankfully Woodbine doesn't do this crap.

Not sure how the owners can be happy about this....the week before the final your horse has to race an extra eighth of a mile then some of the other horses in the final? What sense does this make? What's next having one of the races run on the turf? Place should have just closed instead of having the clowns run the circus.

Amen to that.  Makes no sense whatsoever.

Doesn't make sense to me and I couldn't find anything about it in the series conditions on the web site. But I was told that if they had more than 10 starters in the race, they would extend the race the extra 1/8 of a mile because of the trailer.

At a mile or 1-1/8, it looks like a chalky finish between 3 Company Man, 4 JK Patriot and 11 Major Uptrend.
