Cobalt suspensions
« on: September 05, 2014, 11:09:51 AM »
Apparently New York has gotten serious about trainers who abuse cobalt and are going to start handing out ten year suspensions to those who are abusing the stuff. For those of you who don't know, cobalt is giving through an iv within hours of the horse racing. It boosts red blood cell counts immensely.

I wish they would do the same thing in all other racing states. Clean these cheating pricks out for good...or at least ten years. I truly wish states would already have saved frozen urine and blood samples from the past two years and retest them for cobalt and anything else they can now detect that was not checked for previously, and nail these guys to the wall. (Of course they should get rid of any samples from say, 1991 and earlier.  8) )

California did join the fray today...THANK GOD!,

CHRB announced that any cobalt reading over 25ppb would be considered a positive with punitive repercussions!

I hope this helps!

thumbsup There are a whole lot of other things they should be testing for all over the country to rid the business of these scoundrels. This is a great start!

Its been tough watching career 5-10% trainers go to 20-25%..  Finally some positives coming out...
