LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Hoppertunity has been scratched from the Kentucky Derby on Saturday after not coming out to train on Thursday morning. Trainer Bob Baffert said he has an issue with his left front foot. Daily Racing Form clocker Mike Welsch did not like the way Hoppertunity trained on Wednesday.
Hoppertunity had post 11 in the Derby. All those outside him move in one slot. The scratch allows Pablo Del Monte, who was on the also-eligible list, to draw in, if his connections desire to run from post 20.
