Who do you like ?
I am not sold on CC or anyone else for that matter.
IMO it is the most wide open Derby field I have ever seen.
Too many disappointments on track or out with injuries.
I was kinda glad to see Baffert get dq'd last night at CD.
Going to wait for the draw first before tossing anyone completely out.Whoever draws post #1 will be the 1st tossout.

Tross no chance CC is 6 to 1. Thinking 3/1 to 4to 1. Agree it's wide open. I like CC so he is a throw out.

I think California Chrome is a big favorite in terms of a Derby favorite. There are like 5 horses I couldn't possibly bet, and the rest all look way too similar. None of the top horses survived the year to make this race and we're left with a bunch of question marks. I'll say CC with a good draw is 2/1 favorite, and I'll be trying to beat him.

BTW...that dq at Churchill last night sucked, cost me a $2 pick 4.

I don't see California Chrome being less than 5-2 unless he draws a great post and the track is lightning fast and favoring speed.

It's gonna be a crazy weather week so if it comes up sloppy like last year, he may still be the favorite albeit at a higher price.

But he probably won't be 5-1/2 to 1 like Orb was because it was more of an even field compared to this year's crop.

Let's see what happens in the next couple of days with new developments and the PP draw.

Orb was 5/1 last year, but there was also Revolutionary, Verrazano, Itsmyluckyday, Goldencents, Normandy Invasion, Vyjack....after California Chrome you could have had Shared Belief, Cairo Prince, Honor Code, Top Billing, New Year's Day, Constitution, but none of them are here. Bayern and Social Inclusion could have drawn some attention if they won their grade 1's and failed....so who does this leave for the public to fall in love with? Dance With Fate and Medal Count want synthetic, We Miss Artie wants turf or synthetic, Harry's Holiday wants some claimers. These are 4 horses I'll toss no matter where they draw. Ring Weekend would have been my fifth early toss but he's out...

I'm kinda mixed about the Derby. I would like to see CC win just for the trainer, BUT the owners? NOPE. It's hard enough just winning a race. Don't go out and tell the world CC is going to win. Now on another note: if I were Steve Asmusson, I would go nutso on the Derby Oaks. I mean Peta had racing officials on his ass, so I would make a bigg issue about his filly not being able to get into the Derby.

That's where we are different. When I bowled I never bragged about bowling even if I was bowling against a guy that was on the tour. What happened? I kicked his ass. I shot a 774 and he shot a 640. After that the guy always had good things to say. I ALWAYS got up if someone said something negative about me. Even when I had my horses, I never bragged about them. At the end, I told my trainers, drivers, that if we won a race, I would take them out to dinner in the flats. Just me I guess but to each it's own.

You obviously don't know a damn thing about me which is just fine....all I'm saying is if you are racing a horse in the Derby, you better think that horse has a shot at winning or you shouldn't be there. And I really doubt the other horses are going to get up and race better because of what an owner said...smh

i agree with the comment about an owner thinking he has a shot before entering.
imo over the yrs there are far too many who have had no shot from groovy and zabaleta to trinniberg.
once they started filling gate with 20 horses there are 4-5 in there who you will never hear from again.
too many owners with 2 much money just want to be in the race.

exactly, do you REALLY think that the jocks don't play games!!! remember Espinoza and Gomez in the Santa Anita Derby? I would think if a jock knows he is not going anywhere and he wants to get back at someone, then he will. I mean it's got to be really flagrant to call in a jock with 20 horses. As tross correctly says, too many people with $$$$$$. I've always said don't make waves until after you win, then you can say anything you want to and people can't say shit about what you done. Again that is just me.
