Question About Purse Distribution
« on: January 27, 2014, 06:04:45 AM »
Let's say six horses are carded.  Four horses are scratched.
The two-horse race is run.  How is the purse distributed?

Unless something has changed they get paid just as if there were 5 or more horses in the race.

In Ohio fairs I believe it is something like 60% or 66% to the winner, the rest to the loser. Amy would know the exact amount.

That wasn't very nice.

I have first hand experience in this sort of situation in Michigan.   Second place finisher got second place money (25%) and the winner got everything else.

What I meant to say was, "Amy is much better versed at Ohio racing commission rules than I am."

Very politically correct way of saving your ass Gary.  Of course, nothing in Illinois is politically correct.

Actually Ohio follows USTA rules on this one.......and I'm too lazy to look up the %'s, but the entire purse would be paid out.
