I see Theo Epstien has bought a house in Lakeview near my condo. There are some real nice houses in the area. I've toured some of them when they have an open house. But, I don't think I've been in one they were asking more than about 2 million for it. No, I haven't had Rosie over for coffee yet. Maybe I'll have her and herhusband,better-half, partner over after their marriage later this month.
Chicago Cubs leader Theo Epstein buys home in Chicago
December 6, 2011 - Chicago Cubs president of baseball operations, Theo Epstein, has purchased a home near Wrigley field. It has not been reported what he paid, but the most recent listing was for $3.25 million.
Epstein recently stepped down as the general manager for the Boston Red Sox, and joined the Cubs with a reported contract of $18.5 million over the next five years.
The property has 7,800 square feet of living space including five bedrooms and six bathrooms spread out over three floors. The house was built in 2010 and was previously in contract with Chicago Blackhawk Patrick Sharp in October, but the $2.9 million deal clearly fell through.
The home also has extras including four fireplaces, 12-foot ceilings, herringbone wood floors, over-sized doors and custom paneling, according to the listing. Outside features include a deck and patio where Epstein can invite over famous neighbors such as Rosie O'Donnell.
Hollywood celebrities and athletes alike have been relocating to the Chicago area recently, and many are wondering who will be next.
