No, If I have the best horse in the country, I make sure he is ready for Lexington and the end all be all the Breeders crown. That is what matters. Just like the T-breds, they are all aiming for one thing at this time of the year the Breeders Cup.
Those are the races at this time for the year that get you year end honors, not the Jug.

I heard the attendance but don't know exactly what they said.  40-45,000??  Whatever it was  there was no "screaming we have broke an attendance record" from Roger Huston.    I will say the chairs were lined up all down the backside from the fence to about 12' from the barns.  Have not seen that in years.  and the crowd on the backside were actually cheering and  yelling every race so they were betting pretty good back there.  The bleachers were almost empty.  one corner next to the grandstand and that was about it.  Grandstand had some empty spots in the corners and way up top but it had twice as many people as last year.  The white tent on the backside was probably 1/2 full.  If they would get rid of the damn thing and allow the "common betting $" folks to set their chairs there all the way back to the betting booths they would triple whatever those handful in that damn fancy tent bet and that tent , beer and catering isn't "cheap" to put on so I don't know how it could've been a moneymaker this year either.  My grandmother would say " you can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear" and that is what I think they are trying to do with this tent.  They have the huge charity tent on the 1st turn. We don't need anymore "white glove" tents.  Give these country bettin boys more opportunities to see the races and get to the bettin booths .

By no means do I direct this at Tony Alagna but I can't help but notice the contradiction. On one hand you hear that these owners want to do what's "in the best interest of the horse". By that I assume they are referring to the health and well being of the horse. I also hear that if some of that Ohio slot money made its way to Delaware you might get more of the top ones entered.

Huh? How does heat racing all of a sudden become acceptable to the horse's "best interest" if there is $1M purse? Just like anything else, everyone has a price. Race for $1M or more and they would probably go 6 heats if that's what it took. Just my opinion.
