The Creston-Norwayne Bobcats won today's Division IV high school football championship tonight, beating #1 ranked Kenton by a score of 48-42. This was the first state championship ever for the school.
Now some of you might wonder why old Gary D would give a shit? Norwayne High School, now Creston-Norwayne High School, is located in Wayne County, Ohio. That just so happens to be the county I grew up in.
More importantly, the school superintendent is Larry Acker, an avid fan of harness racing and of In The Sulky forum. Mr. Acker grew up in a harness racing family and has been involved in the sport as an owner and breeder for at least 40 years. More than that, he's my buddy.
Congratulations Mr. Acker!!!
