Book Babe

This filly just absolutely jiggy jogged home in 1:52.4 in her first real money race in the Ontario Sires Stakes Gold series.

Bret Hanover's mother's filly finished a game second too, but she was not match for Book Babe. Not saying she won't get better, but this was the first start for both fillies. Two very nice babies!

Very impressive, and Alibi Seelster won very easy earlier under wraps. The Shadow Play Horses looking very nice.

Just heard that Book Babe broke down last night.  Broken sesamoid.  She raced like a monster.  Just goes to show you how heartbreaking and tough this business can be.  Hate to hear news like this.

Damn, that sucks for Book Babe's connections. While I had three broken sesamoids on horses I trained, none were anything close to Book Babe.

Our filly decided to kick a trunk and cut her leg down to bone.   Out at least 3 weeks and miss a chance at a $150,000 start.....
