Peter Wrenn, a winner of multiple driving titles at Hoosier Park, has been suspended indefinitely by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission after failing a human drug test. Wrenn, 50, has not raced at Hoosier Park since May 9, and at the time was second in the 2013 dash standings with 49 victories. Wrenn currently stands 13th on the all-time dash list with 9,080 wins.
According to the ruling issued by the Indiana Horse Racing Commission, a urine sample collected from Wrenn on April 26 was analyzed by the Witham Toxicology Laboratory, which reported findings of codeine and morphine.
The ruling states that "a licensee whose license has been summarily suspended by the judges is entitled to a hearing following a written request by the licensee. The judges shall conduct a hearing on the summary suspension, the sole issue is whether the licensee's license should remain suspended pending a final disciplinary hearing and ruling."
