2013 Derby Day after thoughts

1st off too bad it rained all day and  took something away from a great card of racing.i think the track played fairly considering the slop but some scratches hurt the quality.i was looking forward to the 10th race but the scratch of point of entry killed that.like a dope i did not bet the chalk wise dan. i ran up and got my mom some mcds coffee figuring he would drop to 1-5 or less.what dopes were betting optimizer and the like at less than double digit odds.
cashed a nice bet on the race where i tossed trinniberg but still lost for the day.

congrats to orb and the connections.the derby gods shined on shug and the owners.i have always liked shug going back to easy goer and lure and glad to see him win.more glad than to see pletcher lose w 5 horses going !  that was just icing on the cake.

After replaying the Darby 6 times, I don't see how Orb loses the Preakness. I probably just jinxed him, but I don't see any horse that can challenge from the 3 YO crop in Baltimore.

I'm with ya. I'm sure there are some horses that might have just hated the track, but Orb has shown he can get over any surface and most of the horses I thought were at least decent won't be in Baltimore after some really poor Derby efforts.

Mike Smith rode a nice race in the Oaks, but what was he doing in the Derby? 1:09 and change? Didn't they say it was the fastest 6 f's ever? Bet he's never on him again!!
