Now that some time has passed and the drama has deceased I wanted to clear the air.

I arrived at the track that night program in hand and a wad of cash in my pocket. I had been on a decent run the last week and never thought it would end up like it did. After settling down, getting rid of my coat and grabbing a beverage I sat down to put together my tickets and watch the horses in the first few races warm up.

I finally settled on my ticket and got up to bet, I wound up seeing a couple friends on the way to the window and ended up talking for several minutes. As I got back to my spot, I seen Lamar Wingard on the track warming up, the horse looked great, alert, ears perked, yet shockingly relaxed. I glanced back at my program and seen I had him X-ed out. I then thought about my years of watching these animals, it isn't often you seen one so at ease, yet ready to race.

I stood up and pulled out a wad of crumpled bills, I counted what I had there and was 2$ short to put in the ticket. It was then I spotted Barnyard and said hey pal how bout loaning me a deuce, he snickered a bit but obliged. As I walked away I chuckled and said, Lamar's horse looks great I am putting him in my ticket.

I got to the window and considered canceling my other ticket and putting the whole run in on one ticket but opted to not confused Joe the teller because the gate was in position. I played the extra run and hustled to my spot.

So i played 5 tickets singling the 3 in the third race cost was 470.00 then i was looking for a bomb just in case the 3 lost. i saw wingards horse warmup like a train ! i took a shot and made a ticket with him . the horse came home in 27.2 to win by a head. i dont know why the horse was so good tonight . and if wingard was standing next to me i wouldnt know who he is.

Wingard got his horse home and the pick 5 came back the whole pool, I was just as shocked as everyone else. But I got lucky.

I am tired of the Swoodall's, Warren, and all the haters of my and my son. 1st my son has nothing to do with this and 2nd I been playing 47 years, I am allowed to get lucky now and then, ain't it?

I say add up my loses over the years and see where I am profit wise.

Well that is the story, hate me if you like, but it wont be fair.

Makes sense not to cancel the original ticket and get the teller confused. Technically, you did not single Lamar's horse, you just added him for a saver.

Your best bet would be to avoid these forums. I got an e-mail today  that your story stinks like a rotten egg, and I was going to post it but was advised at the office to leave it be. Ira , you got your money, spend it in good helalth and let the jealous haters rot. Your explanation of the nights incidents makes all the  sense in the world .Always the best Ira . Learn to enjoy being disliked by others.  No matter how hard you try there will always be some that dislike or hate you.  Just remember not to think about it because you get a satisfaction knowing that people are taking the time to think and talk about you while they have not even crossed your mind.

Dale, always the voice of reason,  and I commend you for your insight on the state of harness forums, hatred and just sheer bitterness. Dale you "get it" and always have. Thank you for sharing that with us, and hopefully that Hate Machine you speak of will be rewarded with what they truly deserve. But at times  I really  wonder. The vicious nature of some is not easy to understand. But it's there and probably always will be.

Ira, I can understand your frustration but is Woodall and his band of Haters and Miserable Lowlifes really worth your time and the endless headaches they have constantly and ruthlessly sent in your direction. Its unfair and I can understand your issues with so many including me. But,  Im on your side and will continue to be . Alwyays.  I think you know that in your heart Ira

Dale, again great seeing you here.  We have been wondering where you have been hiding . How's the golf game ?  I know the big race is upcoming and I'll do what I can to make it out to Balmoral for the big night and see you and your lovely family. Its still up in the air. Business has been erratic and I dont know my plans from hour to hour these days

Perhaps on a more important note, how is the Michigan situation with respect to our game. Any signs of hope or progress?  The last I had read, it was not promisisng. But time will tell. Your wonderful Governor has been very little help as usuual from what I can see.  An awful situation and I pray something can be worked out. I know it appears bleak Dale, but Michigan racing is a vital part of the industry and lets hope those at the top of the mountain can come to realize that fact. What exactly is the situation with Hazel and dates this year ? Its all so darn sad.. All we can do is  hope is that they come to their senses. A tall task for sure.
