School shooting in Connecticut

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and friends of those killed and injured in today's school shootings in Connecticut. No person of sane mind could do such a thing, and in my opinion if the guy had any balls at all, he'd have shot himself first.

There will be many who scream for gun control in the aftermath of this tragedy, but just one sane person who carried a concealed gun and could shoot straight would certainly have stopped this massacre from happening.

I have been in tears off and on all day........ranted on Facebook.........and prayed...........it answers nothing.

God Bless these families who have suffered such horrific loss and grant them comfort.

Two of my grandughters are very young grade-schoolers, so it kinda hits home. Too bad someone didn't blow his f*cking head off before he got to those poor kids. There's a special corner of Hell for people who will hurt a child.

Really to shoot and slaughter babies is just beyond anything else.

It is worse than the normal asshole shooting up something.

This hit me very hard. because I just cant imagine 5 year olds being rounded up killed like this. 

After he shoots a baby how does he move to the next?

Even like son of sam and other psychos just never got to this level.

Amy I appreciated your FB wall today. You had a very normal gut reaction to this.
The gun control debate is for another day and I will gladly participate in it.


RIP to these victims.

Today was the day.

In Las Vegas, schools do have armed police officers on duty.

The cost of having a police officer in every school would be high.  Most larger schools, like high schools do have at least one armed officer on duty as well as other security now.  Most larger schools have to have many doors as a safety factor for things like fires.  They may be locked from the outside, but not from the inside.  Any student could open one of these doors and let someone in.  Even more important, we might have to cut back on things like aid to illegals to come up with the money to pay for extra security.  Kids don't vote yet and are already subject to ultra liberal indoctrination. So, no extra votes there. 
Needless to say , I had many harrowing experiences in the decades I spent in schools.  A fight between two girls broke out in the hall and as I went to break it up, one of the girls pulled a knife as I got close.  I grabed her hand, kick her legs out and had her pinned to the ground pronto.  Although I had her hand with the knife pinned, I couldn't use my other hand to take the knife away.  Luckily, one of my students helped me out and took the knife out of her hand.
Needless to say, he got a pretty good grade that semester.   I could  go on and on, but suffice it to say it's a war zone out there.

Heading trouble off before it gets to the school door is preferable to confronting it after after it breaks in.  To that end, junior highs and high schools need to cultivate an "intelligence" pathway that taps into the best source of information in any secondary school, that being, the students themselves.  Almost nothing happens in and around a school without at least a few students knowing about it.  The world of adolescents is driven by peer relationships and powerful peer pressures to keep their world churning but also to  keep it adult proof.  Parents and teachers do get to occasionally peek into that secret world, but, unfortunately, it is usually after something bad has happened.  Working in the schools and spending more time with kids than their parents do, teachers are in the best position to find out about bad things before they happen.  There are students in every school who are willing to confide in a teacher, if that teacher has earned the student's trust.  Understand that trust, to the adolescent, means making sure that what he has told you could never be traced back to him.  Savvy and experienced teachers know how to "create" circumstances to protect the identity of the students who volunteer information.  The most hurtful thing that can happen to a parent who has lost a teenage child is to learn afterward that somebody knew about the danger and did nothing about it.
