After 3 Debates
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:48:46 PM »
I still don't trust any of them nor do I think any of them can resolve our problems shootme

The one question or point that Obama keeps on bringing up Romney avoids like the plague and I don't understand why?

He states Romney wants to add another 2 Trillion dollars to the military defense.
Given these current times and latest events , I really do not see that this a bad idea
maybe I'm wrong but I wouldn't be ashamed of it JMO.

I said it before and I'll say it again, these debates remind me of PRO-WRASSLIN!!!! They shake each others hands before the debate and call each other every name in the book and after they shake each others hand again. Plus their family's get involved with that too!!!! If it were me I"d PISS on the other!!!!

The Obama 2013 budget would have defense spending go from about 4.5% of GDP in 2012 to about 3% of GDP in 2013.  Also, due to the lack of negotiations skills during the last Fiscal Cliff debacle, they ended with an agreement that if no agreement is reached by December 31, 2012, they'll automatically cut $500 billion from defense spending.

Nobody really talks about those possibilities.  Everyone seems to agree that protecting our homeland is the most important thing government does yet the possibilities of increases the budget are met with harsh criticism.

At one time, during the early days of this regime, I was kind of ambivilant on the subject of military/defense budgets. There is a ton of waste in the spending for military hardware. No one can deny that. A billion dollars for a B-2 seems a bit much. On the other hand the guys and girls who serve today do it as their choice, an option they are pursuing. They deserve the very best we can make available.
As time went by and up to today I have begun to believe some of the so-called extremist crap that we hear on the 'net' saying that Soetoro is a muslim and owes his allegiance to his religion and his God alone. Then he turns and does something such as this to those same people I described earlier and uses it as a political/campaign tool with which to score points with a minority group who would hold our form of government in contempt.
I understand that Barry was completely unqualified to hold the job of president but I would think he might hold the future of the country and it's young people in a bit more esteem. Then again why should he or when did he ever except to cajol votes from ignorant, uninformed voters.
Interesting fact today is that after last nights debate which those same uninformed claim was an Soetoro victory, the Gallup polling organization claims that Romneys lead has gone from a four point margin ( 50%-46%) to a six point spread (51%-45%). Supposedly taken from a group of certain to vote citizens. Gallup has historically been no friend to the Republican party.
Watch this very carefully and remember that Obama is a product of the Ayers/Axelrod/Daley/Shakowski school of community agitation.
You can be pretty sure there is tyranny in the country when the government pleads the fifth

Just for your info, a friend's son was sent to Afghanistan for 6 months duty.  His specialty is repairing & maintaining fighter jets so he does not do combat missions, which is to say he stays on base.  For that tour of 6 months he was paid $150,000.  That is pretty decent pay for 6 months.

I do not begrudge him anything & if it were my child I'd be totally against any 6 months in Afghanistan for any amount of money.  Anyway, he will be home next week & $150,000 closer to his retirement goal & he is 29!

My nephew has been in the middle east for 10+ years repairing military vehicles (mostly Humvees) for a private contractor. He was in Iraq, Afghanistan, and now Kuwait. For some reason he loves it... damned if I would. I have no idea how much he's paid, but he was home (North Carolina) awhile back. He walked into a Honda dealership and paid $32,000. for a little red two-seater sports car, then promptly wrecked it.(badly) He told his Mom he'd fix it next time he's home, and left it on jack stands in her garage.

Just the crazy stuff you do when you're young.

I wouldn't sit in that sandy hellhole for years for any amount of money.
