On the 22nd of this month a giant in the sport of harness racing died at his retirement home in Florida.
John Cashman was 72 years old. He held so many top positions in the sport that I can't begin to relate them all. The fact that he was general manager and president of Castleton Farm in Lexington, KY was probably his most notable achievment. He guided the Van Lennep dynasty through their greatest years.
Met him several times. He was a true gentleman. RIP John !!
