The fact that he's driving tonight makes some of the rumors floating around unrealistic.

For Sylvain, this is the equivalent of Tetrick, Brennan, Gingras and David Miller missing the BC because snow grounded their plane.

Phil Hudon drove Panther in his four starts at two, but Sylvain has handled him in all of his 2012 starts. Missing a start like this and putting the owner's 25K supplemental fee in jeopardy is risky business. Colts like Panther Hanover don't fall into your lap very often.

Yes and I will tell you why: he never beats up a horse, yet they all seem to go faster for him that for most other guys. Like a lot of French drivers, he also tends to just use enough horse to win a race. He rarely wins by many lengths and that helps a horse a whole lot over 30 starts.

He also always puts the horse where he has a shot to win. He drives a lot like Brian Sears.
