Just discovered something important to all bachelors!

Ryan found an old container of bacon in my refrigerator last night. It was brand new, unopened, and the meat was pink. He said "Dad, this cannot be any good. How old is it?"

I replied that I thought it was about six months old, but bacon could never go bad, and he decided to start throwing old stuff away from the refrigerator. For some reason he left the bacon in there, so I decided to cook it this morning in a pan on the stove, the old fashioned way.

To my dismay, I burned the first pan of it, probably because this was the first bacon I had cooked on the stove in years and years. Despite that, I ate the six burned slices, and they tasted like crap.

However I cooked the other seven slices to near-perfection, and they are delicious! Hopefully Ryan doesn't want any of this six month-old pound of bacon. It is nearly gone.

Well the badly scorched six month-old bacon sucked, but you know well my hatred for throwing food away.

And Amy, are my nearly seven year-old percosets and lortabs still good? The label says they are expired.

I just found the label when I tossed it in the garbage. "Use or freeze by January 30, 2012". It was in my meat drawer though and that gets stuff so cold it is nearly frozen.

Admittedly had I found the expiration date earlier, I'd have wasted this bacon.

I think Allah actually loved bacon and that's why he forbade his followers from eating it.

Yes, definitely against Ohio laws.  Florida on the other hand is a completely different story.  Why don't you send them to me & I'll examine & sample them.  No worry about the name - I have friends in the legal system.
