It was 30.2 but even still, javelina has a point you see this almost every race , it's called rating a horse. I think Catman just fell asleep at the wheel.

Here is the replay , I stole this from Dolfan @ BTW , hope he don't mind 8)

Yessir, I have seen some horrendous disqualifications in my time, but this was probably the worst one ever. That horse was shut down just past the 1/8th mile pole. He probably went the second eighth of the race very nearly the same as he did the third and fourth eighths. Horrendous call.

UPDATE!!!

I WAS ABLE TO ASCERTAIN THE EMAIL ADDRESSES OF THE JUDGES.

Nick.Ferriero@racing.ny.gov, William.schroh@racing.ny.gov, frank.pellegrino@racing.ny.gov

It took me all night but I got this info.   Please continue to bombard the race office, officials, and track management.   If you have multiple email address use them.

My source inside Yonkers say's heads are rolling and the outcry has been unprecedented.

NEVER STOP!!!

Putting aside the particular incident in question, the rule requiring drivers to go to the half at a pace that is reasonable for a given class, which was first enforced by Milton Taylor in the Delaware Valley in the early 1960s, is an excellent one. If the only way you can win is to back into the field you better drop the horse down.

Brennan is the worst offender these days, and that strategy is especially lethal on the Yonkers half. Why don

Totally disagree. And my well known stance is that in combination with the passing lane, these two changes have almost ruined racing.

I agree with you on the passing lane.

The slow quarter should be rewarded, as long as the driver does not jam on the brakes and create confusion. a 27 second quarter followed by a 33 second quarter may not be a problem. Or it may be. Is the 16th involves in 7 or 12 is a a far better question.

To me that is the most undeserved dq I ever witnessed. I saw the exact same thing happen Saturday night in another race, one where they "slowed" the second quarter to 26.4, and no one was disqualified, nor should they have been.

Every driver has a right line. The guy on top controls everything until someone challenges him. In my opinion, the judges screwed Brent Holland royally.

Hell I was one of the most vocal people when tracks started their 34 second second quarter rule, and I am damned sure against it to this day. Matter of fact I always told my drivers I would pay their fines if they had my horse on top and got fined for a slow quarter.

Horrible error in jugement by those who made the call. Javelina is 100% correct. The need to be swamped with either calls or letters and I have done so. They said they would get back to me, and the tone of one judge was that they blew it. Sadly , I think dont think anything will be done, but at least Jav 's idea to make them aware of this blunder is very commendable. Hopely posters will comply . I will continue to e-mail and call. Lets get something done for once

This was legal robbery. We cant have that. Game has enuff problems without adding this to the mix. Utterly incompetent judges. This happens thousands of times a year and not a word is said. Cat Manzi was the one at fault. Pretty obvious when you watch

First time I got to watch the race........Giss is right, unless confusion is caused there should not be a placing........sure, Holland slowed the pace down (30.2 second quarter is a big difference from a 33 second quarter) but the only one confused was Manzi........there was no reason to run over the top of the horse in front of him........driver error on his part.
