Is he there ? A lot of drivers snowed in at the airport in NY.

Yeah, he just drover one for Tim Tetrick in the second...and jiggy jogged. One of his better interviews-he even smiled!

Won the 2nd race as a catch driver for Tetrick who couldn't make it. Lucky bum.

Loved when the interviewess quoted him from last week in an elim with Ceadr Dove and he did not remember saying it. Pierce is the best interview since Helen Keller.

rflmao1 and joke all you want...He is not paid to be the poster child for how to give interviews...He gets paid when he wins races, especially the big ones and as for that, his chosen profession, he is clearly one of the all time best.
LET'S HIS DRIVING DO THE TALKING FOR HIM

Nobody, and I mean Nobody is arguing that point. I wish I had half, no just 20%, of his driving ability, bowdown

However, these races were telecast live in Canada and on a cable network in the US. If we can give our drivers a bit of media training (as they do with the T-bred jocks in the triple Crown and BC) it would help us immensely in the limited exposure we get. David Miller used to be a horrible interview. I used to dread having him win a race. But he worked on it and is now presentable...he comes across as knowledgeable and professions. The two best in the biz in that regard are John Campbell and Dave Palone.

In my opinion Ron Pierce is among the all-time elite drivers. But it is hilarious when they interview him.

Of course, if they interviewed a guy like McKirgan, I could just hear him: "This motherf**ker could not beat a decent $5000 claimer at Northfield. If I owned him he would never, ever leave Northfield Park, ever! f**king rat..."

Very classy thing to say.

Utter buffoon
Pierce can drive with the very best, but he ain't much of a sweetheart to be around... ask John Campbell.

Whats does that have to do with the Helen Keller comment by The Giss ?
Whether you like Giss or not, Ron Pierce can be nasty to be around. AND I did give RP his props for his driving ability.

I saw Jim Curran and Dick Valentine being interviewed by Eleanor Flavin at Sportsmans after a win on Super Night. Helen Keller would have been an easier interview: neither one would talk. And I like both guys... just wouldn't want to get that assignment.

I've never met Giss, but my guess is we'd have a pleasant lunch sometime... it's hard to make an enemy while you're eating a sammitch and drinking a beer.

I have met The Giss and he is one hell of a good guy. And I have met Ron Pierce. Both are very likeable guys.

One can drive a horse, the other never quite reached the upper echelon of the driving .  idunno One is a good interview, the other not so much. By the way, Pierce clearly said last week the filly was being pinched in the hole. Like many of us often do, he probably forgot he even said it.

Helen Keller was a socialist, according to many articles on the internet. Good thing she kept quiet for the most part. >:(  Of course she never could the error of her ways... noway

I really could care less how great of an interview a driver gives.  as long as he can drive the ass off and win who cares how his social skills are???
I think the interviews should be with the trainers anyway instead of the drivers.  who the hell got those horses ready to race for those drivers anyway ???  idunno

Some people are good at giving interviews and some aren't. It doesn't make one a better or worse trainer or driver than anyboy else.

I'm sure it isn't comfortable for either party when that happens.
