it is amazing that all of these football players are killing themselves and they still have a sense to not shoot themselves in the Head, but in the chest. They all want their brains tested for the disease that they don't even have meds you can take to help them. ETC I think? Correct me if i am wrong. The NFl is looking at Losing Millions with all the players that have filed lawsuits against them

Some players will lie to coaching staff about head injuries to stay in the game. I wonder if they could establish a testing program to detect brain injuries before symptoms appear? Maybe have a rule that you have to have a 'health certificate' issued by a Dr that's not employed by a team.

It's amazing how hard the NFL pros hit each other... if your near the field it's scary the shots they give and take. When you have guys that are 300lbs and can run like a gazelle, with muscles of steel, there's gonna be a big impact. There's a reason damn few people can play in The NFL.

To me, and this is just my opinion, I don't get the outpouring of sympathy. This guy got to live his dream job, play for millions of dollars and took his own life. I know that won't be a popular opinion, but it's completely selfish and irresponsible. When you get paid the amounts of dollars that these athletes are making, you have to assume some liability on your part. You know instinctively that 400 pound men hitting you in the head isn't good for you, but you played anyway - why? Because of the money. Well here's the thing, none of these players walked away, because than they'd have to get real jobs in the real world. I see this as little more than a cash grab by some washed up athletes. Don't Want to get hurt? Don't play. Pretty simple.

You have no idea how true that statement is. I suffer from a Traumatic Brain Injury. I say all sorts of things I normally would no say...and the TBI is a damned convenient excuse!

I think the equipment they wear contributes to the injuries.  Makes them think they are invincible.  Those helmets can be lethal weapons and although rules try to stop it, they can't stop everything with huge bodies flying around.  Maybe if they went back to leather helmets it would help.  Or, maybe not.
