ITHA vs Arlington Park
« on: May 01, 2012, 01:39:10 PM »
I know this is T-Bred racing, but for anyone in Illinois who plans to bet on the Derby is affected:

And ITHA's viewpoint:

No wonder Illinois Horse Racing is in the dumps.

Will we be able to bet online? I was under the impression that the Churchill signal would be blocked to all Illinois residents, online or off line. Again, I'm not sure if that is correct, but that is how I interpreted it.

As of right now, that would be correct. No Racetrack or OTB facility in Illinois,  is allowed to show or take wagers on Churchill

Gonna lose a lot of Beer sales if they do not resolve the problem.

I know that Balmoral has a big push to get people out to watch the Derby, and hopefully stay over for the evening races.  Guess I can't use my free derby glass coupon! rflmao1 rflmao1 The local OTB, which is a Hawthorne OTB, always has tents set up for the derby, it's their biggest day.

PEZZ, is that true for ALL OTB's in Illinois or just those owned and operated by Dickie D?   Here's why I post the question.    The Arlington owned Trackside OTB's continue to advertise Michigan tracks as available to wager on and include them in their programs but they will NOT show the signal.   They've used every excuse known to man.   They will Accept wagers but not show the signal......to me, that's crap.   Its false advertising and its nothing more than being a glorified bookie joint.   I've taken this 'beef' to the Gods at Arlington, at two Trackside locations and to the IRB - nothing happens but you get lip service and more excuses......point is, at the other OTB's not owned by Arlington as well as at the racetracks themselves, they DO present the Michigan tracks and carry the signal...so I have to think this is a Arlington/Trackside issue only and may not affec the other OTB's.

Dale

I maybe wrong but I think the boycott wiil cover everything up here whether owned by AP or not.It is the KY horsemen who have blocked the signal in supprot of IL horeemen.

Dale, it was true. I have heard they have come to an agreement so all of this should end.

But if they didn't get this done by Friday. Every track and OTB facility would not of been able to show the Oaks whole card here in Illinois. The KY horseman stuck by the Illinois horseman and said take that! Kudos to them
