Title: OT/ Jay Cutler
Post by: Just Saying on December 01, 2011, 05:57:30 AM
I read in this am's paper that Cutler had surgery requiring 3 screws and 2 pins to put his thumb back together. Must have been a nasty fracture. He said he's not going to hurry the recovery, regardless of whether he gets back on the field this year or not. Can't say I blame him, but The Bears are really missing him at QB.

I wonder if the Bears will put in a claim on Donovan Mcnabb.   My guess is no

I wouldn't be so sure of that .

He's still better than a lists of QB's in the league right now.
Well the 4 we watched the last 2 thurs for sure.  rflmao1

Think you are right.  But, I still see his mom driving around in her Lincoln Navigator.  I've thought of forcing her to the curb and demanding soup!!!

No One claimed him.

I think his contract was worth to much for someone to claim.

He may still sign on with someone at  a reduced rate.

I agree 1.5 million for 5 games for a 35 year old Qb that 2 teams gave up on is way to much. Texans, and bears have said they are not interested.

Make that 3 teams as the Eagles werw the 1st to get rid of him.Cowboys also on record as not being interested.

Plus it sounded like T.O. also gave up on him, and T.O. was one that always stuck for his QB's and praised them.

I highly doubt we will see McNabb in the league again.  The word out of Minnesota was that he was out of shape, lazy, and not interested in learning the play book.   Sounds kind of similar to when he got benched by Shannahan in Washington to Rex during a 2 minute drill.

I don't mean to derail this thread to talk about harness racing, but let's remember Cole Muffler's original name was Sage Hanover ;D

Back on topic.  I'm not thrilled with McCown, but I just can't see McNabb being a fit. I think Hanie will be okay as long as stays sound til Cutler gets back.  But if he doesn't you gotta have someone who knows Martz's offense and terminology.

I wonder how out of shape the aged Kurt Warner is?  At least he's got some back class that McCown doesn't have.

It's do or die for Haine , this is the last year of his contract and if he does good he will be picked up by another team and if he does bad the Bears will cut him.

He has no choice but to shine , he still lacks confidence though

Kitna has been hurt for several weeks.  The Cowboys put a claim in on Orton as insurance in case Romo went down.  It sounds like Kitna is about 2 weeks away,  there would be no reason for the Cowboys to claim McNabb, because even if he did have anything left in the tank....which he doesnt, it would take him at least 2 weeks to learn the playbook.

Why would the Cowboys ever be interested in signing McNabb when they have Romo and Kitna as a backup .

I wouldn't say the Eagles gave up on him it just made no sense to pay McNabb all that money to back up Vick.

Plus they got a couple of picks for him in the trade.

Forgot about that wIth Eagles.
Vick is not going to last either so they can use those piks.
