Title: Bob Belcher denied USTA membership?

I think it is because he isn't friends with Amy Hollar

         It doesn't much matter (at least in this regard) what the USTA does and/or determines.

 Should a solitary track permit Mr. Belcher to hold a license, than the USTA under current by-laws would be required to gran a license.

 The same thing happened to Case, and when he was released on probation and drove those few days at Plainridge. Mass., granted a license and the USTA followed suit.
 Later when Case wasn't racing at Plainridge his USTA license was revoked.

The USTA used to be an important association... now their just an information recorder. I can't tell you how many people I raced against in Chicago that hadn't been USTA members in years. (and their president had an office at Balmoral Park)

I'm racing superintendent at our county fair; if you don't have a USTA card you ain't racing! Even though I've been referred to as a pri*k about that, but our racess still fill with USTA members. The USTA gives us a set of rules we have to follow to recieve a license and I follow them. Apparently if you handle over $1 mil a night you can ignore all the rules you want to.

        Nearly all the fairs in the US abide by USTA Rules.

 Not sure of the distinction in Ohio, since many of the fairs have long held pari-mutuel raing. Whether they fall under the ORC Rules or the USTA's.

        Don't believe the USTA had/has any control over this.
The individual states/provinces implemented their own sets of rules and fines and the USTA couldn't gain that back with the 1st Cav., armed to the "T's".

Agreed Wilderness, but I am required to have a USTA license if I only race one day and follow all their rules. It just chapps my ass when a track that handles over a $million/night can ignore those rules. I'm just bitching about something I can't change. Should have just shut up, but all who know me know that's never gonna happen. I'll always throw the "Bullshit" flag when I see a violation.
