My Bride is a Steelers fan.(I don't know what's wrong with her) I'm a lifelong Cowboys fan.(ain't easy this year)
Steelers gave up 8 turnovers today and you can't win in the NFL doing that. Da Coach wasn't happy in the post game interview. Bears fans were happy today. My Bear fan brother will rub it in my butt tomorrow... I'm taking his calls today.

Considering what's happening to the Peckers over at the Meadowlands, Bears fans are estatic tonight.
Question : Take away Aaron Rogers and maybe Randall Cobb and where is Green Bay in the NFC North ??

They have looked bad since the KC game maybe even the Cincy game.
They need Big Ben as much as the Bears NEED Cutler
-

The KC was a bad game but they played good enough to beat the Ravens last week and would have if Ben played.
The only good thing they got going for them is that the AFC is horrible and they more than likely will still make the playoffs . There's 3 teams fighting for 2 spots Indy ,Pitts and Cincy and they own the tiebreaker against Cincy .
IMO, untill Pittsburgh gets healthy Cincy is the best team in the AFC North right now .
The heat should be on Tomlin right now !! how do you go into the season with a washed up Leftwich and a washed up Charlie Batch as your #2 QB ? . He's still playing with Cowher's players and gets way to much credit for it.
His clock mangement is terrible and he has no control over his players on or off the field .
How do you bench 3 different RB's today for fumbling ? and what in the hell was he doing putting Chris Rainey in the game on the goal line and running him up the middle ? Rainey is 5'8 180 lbs he got lucky the Browns didn't wrap him up and bounced it to the outside for the TD. If Rainey doesn't score there he would have got killed by the media.
This team is so banged up right now , if Ben and Brown were healthy right now they would probally be on a 7 game winning streak instead of a 2 game losing streak.
And in the hell do you lose to a QB that had a 13.7 QB Rating for the game slaphead
Buts thats part of the game

Tomlin is not the GM - that would be Kevin Colbert? So he's not responsible for washed up QBs. No one & I mean no one goes to their 3rd QB & expects to win, even against Brownies.
Comments against Tomlin are insane - this guy is one of the very best. The fact that they had 8 turnovers & only lost by one score is a miracle.
Don't be impressed with Cincy's win over the Raiders who rarely show up - coach is gone there & Palmer is in purgatory. But the AFC is dreadful - Indy is a faker with no defense, Fins at 5-6 have no chance against Pats next week & the Chargers are Norv's Chargers, allowing a 3rd & 29 conversion by Balt. today that put Ravens in position to score with 4 minutes left.
Indy does have the head start & figure to take at least 2 more games, giving them 9 wins. 8-8 just might make it when its all said & done.

I would love to know why you think he's one of the best ? So your going to tell me that Tomlin has no say so on who stays and goes ?
Have you ever seen Tomlin's clock management ? Tomlin has no control over his players on or off the field something that would never happen when Cowher was still here.
There has been more Steelers arrested since he took over than the previous 25 years combined.
Four RBs with one fumble each has to be a record. Tomlin mangled the RB position.
You fumble so you sit philosophy isn't coaching, it's childish manipulation. School yard crap. Made the backs self-conscious.
Mendenhall had just four carries. Did that help? No back had more than nine carries. Did that help?

That is like saying take away Cutler and Marshall from the bears and where are they? Plus the Packers have way more than those 2 on offense.Jordy Nelson, Greg Jennings, James Jones, Jermichael Finley are all better than anything the bears have besides marshall. Bears Still can
t beat them and when Green Bay comes here in 3 weeks, they will win again and win the North with the bears settling for the wild card. This is coming from a realistic bears fan.
-
At least Tomlin would go for a 2 point conversion from time to time to be up by 7 late vs 6.
-

Weeden? His rating was 78.7 for the game.

You are so spoiled. A perennial playoff team & Tomlin's been to the SB 2ice in 6 years. Do I need to constantly remind you of all of the teams who have NEVER been to the SB? Or haven't been in 20+years? Buf 17 yrs, Miami 29 yrs, NYJ 44 yrs, Cle never, Jac never, Cin 24 yrs, SD 19 yrs, KC 43 yrs, Was 21 yrs, Dal 16 yrs, Atl 14 yrs, Min 38 yrs, Det never, SF 17 yrs.
Look around the league & here are the SB winning coaches:
Belichick
Coughlin
Shanahan
McCarthy
Tomlin
The team plays with fire in their eyes, same as Tomlin.
Steelers who have been arrested likely mirrors the rest of the league but I doubt any team compares to the Bengals.
As for the fumble comment, Don Shula, with 347 wins sat his fumblers too. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me.
Bears Still cant beat them and when Green Bay comes here in 3 weeks, they will win again and win the North with the bears settling for the wild card. This is coming from a realistic bears fan.
Pezz, you are so typical for a Bears fan. Your team is 8-3, in 1st place & if they can stay healthy, a legit SB hope. But you choose to hang your head & are just waiting for the sky to fall. Completely opposite of Jets fans who still think their team is the best; what morons!
You guys have a couple of key injuries now, same as Packers. Tillman & Forte are key, Mathews & Shields, same for Pack. Hopefully both teams will be at full strength for that game. You always have a fighting chance with that defense.
-
Dolfan I just know that when they play each other the packers win. Its a fact. I am not saying the sky is falling but just like the giants have the packers number the packers have the bears number
-
I heard this AM on the radio that the Bears lost 5 players to injuries yesterday. That's a big whack. If any were O linemen, I don't know how they got hurt... they never hit anybody. Takes a tough sombitch to be the Bears QB right now.
-

Typical Bears fan? You obviously don't realize how arrogant Bears fans are. They see the Bears beat up on all these terrible teams and think they're the greatest team ever. When in reality the three playoff teams they played were the Bears 3 losses, and the Bears really never had a chance in any of those games. The only teams they've beat that are above .500 are the Colts in Luck's first NFL game, and the Vikings, a team that probably won't even finish .500.
-

Going back to 2004, the Bears have an 8-10 record vs. The Pack. Although the Pack has had their number the last few years, winning 5 in a row, this will likely come down to the health of both teams. Either team could potentially get to the SB as wildcard teams, IMO. Obviously the NFC is very strong this year with SF & Chicago both having great defenses, making them both very capable. Giants are inconsistent but you do get the feeling they'll show up for the playoffs. I'm not sold on Atlanta & their last minute heroics, which I don't think will get them past SF or Chi.

I do not encounter that very often. It seems to me Bears fans are always calling for Lovie's head, always down on their QB & usually doubt the Bears can even get to .500. That's their "realistic" view, which I must admit is so far superior to Jets fans, coaches & players.
-

I don't think it matters what happened in 2004. Its all about the past 2 years or so.
-
Dolfan, don't take this wrong I am a big Cutler fan, but since he arrived here, the bears are 1-7 against the pack. he is 1-6 as he missed last years finale against them.
-
The last couple of years the Packers rarely lost to anyone.
Pezz, certainly you are not placing blame on Cutler, right? They can always try their luck with Campbell. 4pezz2
-
Looks like you can bet the house on the Ravens this week as Tomlin has stated their game plan is with Charlie Barch at QB 4pezz2
Polamalu and Brown will be back this week but unless Ben plays or the defense pitches a shutout it won't matter ,and it looks like Tomlin is benching Wallace slaphead
-
Heard some analysis this week that Batch is not reaching WRs with his throws. That's bad news but a perfect time to bench Wallace if Charlie can't reach him!
Ravens' offense has also been dreadful lately so nothing's impossible. If Ben can do anything now would be the time to take a chance, IMO.
-

I hope this don't turn out to be like the San Fran game last year when Ben came back to soon.
This game isn't as important as some might believe , the Afc is so bad you really only have 3 teams fighting for the 2 wildcard spots Indy ,Cincy and Pittsburgh so another loss this week without Ben isn't the end of the world .
-

No Not at all. Just stating the fact that the last 3 years they are 1-7 against them hence why I think the packers will win in 3 weeks and win the division
-

True. I assume they still have a game left against Cincy. So, yeah, they wouldn't be favored to win with Ben anyway. Any truth to the rumor that they've called in Kordell Stewart, Mark Malone & Bubby Brister for tryouts?

I'm reserving my pick to see who's healthy. The Pack that I saw the other night would have a hard time against Philly. Okay, maybe I'm getting carried away but you get the gist.
Tillman's ankle is okay & Greg Jennings will be back this week. Assuming Clay, Jr. will play that leaves it up to Sam Shields for GB & Matt (don't call me Mike) Forte.
Isn't the NFL the best?
-

I wish !!
-
You know I have refrained from posting on this thread thus far, but must point out the obvious: the reason the Steelers looked so sloppy was the fact that they were playing the highly touted, always tough as nails Browns defense. Big Ben knew not to play Sunday for fear of losing his life.
bowdown bowdown bowdown

Having lived through an entire season of having a ZERO at QB, I feel for the Steeler fans!
-
Yeah, Mr. B - one whole season! Try a decade+.

Your right, if I was the opponate DB's and safety's I'd go 40 yards and THATS IT!!!! He can't throw farter than that!
-
97 yard drive to lose the lead, miracle by cutler, and the D let's a rookie QB go right down the field again in OT to lose. Packers win the division. Bears still only have 1 win against a winning team. Nice Cover nobody prevent defense Lovie at the end of the game again!.
-
Where are the Tomlin haters today?
He made a statement benching Mendenhall & had that team so ripe to win today. No other coach in the league beats Baltimore, with 23 points with a 3rd string washed-up QB. And he missed a bunch of easy throws too!
Pezz, you gotta hang this one on the defense. I didn't watch much of the game but you guys lost to Pete Carroll who jumps up & down like an idiot after every completion!
Still, the game with the Pack will come down to who's healthiest, IMO. Jordy Nelson went down today. Every time the Pack gets someone back, somebody else goes down.

Gotta love when Pittsburgh wins that people think Tomlin is the greatest thing since sliced bread
Lets not forget that Pittsburgh pushed the Ravens around with Leftwich and should have won that game also .
Baltimore is so overrated !!! they should be on a 3 game losing streak .

Well he does has as many super bowl appearances and victories as Cowher. You referenced before it was with Cowher's players well Cowher had Cowher players also.
With that said he wouldn't lead an average team to the superbowl with his coaching ability.
-
You guys are nuts! slaphead
Have you seen what bad coaches do with average players & good QBs? Look at Dallas, San Diego & New Orleans. Saints can't get passed one season without Sean Payton as Brees gets reduced to "okay" from "elite" without his coach. Romo & Rivers could be thriving with good coaching.
Tomlin has nothing but mediocre players & a good QB. Ravens are same & Harbaugh helps to keep them going.
My guess is if Steelers had Marvin Lewis or Pete Carroll as coach they'd be 4-8.

WhAT?? They have the number 1 defense in the nfl.And there best defensive players just played his 3rd game last night. They have a lot of talent on the offensive side of the ball as well. To call the steelers squad mediocre is comical.

Have you seen the job Pete Carroll has done with the Seahawks ?
Tomlin has mediocre players ? when/if the Steelers ever get healthy as a whole i would put them up against anybody in the AFC.
He has a top 5 QB , a very underrated TE in Heath Miller , probably the best WR core as a group in the NFL , One of the top 2 centers in the league with Pouncey
(If not the best)
The number # 1 ranked defense in the NFL who's been without arguably the best defensive player in the league.
Good coaches don't let their teams have letdowns and lose to teams like Oakland ,Tennessee and Cleveland.
-

Drew Brees isn't the reason the Saints are losing and the last time i looked he was still on pace to throw for 4k yards and 40 TD
What makes you think Romo and Rivers would thrive somewhere else ? I think Romo is avg at best and i think Rivers is just a headcase. (Both players thrived off throwing to their Pro Bowl Tight Ends )
-
Wow, what a great name....The Great Gazoo.......brings back many memories...

Yes, then I am comical. Their scheme (under coaching maven Lebeau) is what makes this defense tick & always did.
A top 5 QB? Nope. Top 5 (in no certain order) are Brady, Peyton, Rodgers, Eli & Brees, who yes, has been very erratic this season. Next 5 include Ben, Romo, Rivers, Stafford and now Luck, probably the best of them all. That my opinion & just an opinion.
Great WR's? Mike Wallace? Puh-leeeeeeeze!
And if you don't think that other "good coaches don't let their teams have letdowns and lose to teams like Oakland ,Tennessee and Cleveland", alert!!!!!! San Francisco loses to St. Louis & Minnesota, NE loses to Arizona... It happens all the time, every year.
IMO, the Steelers are the model of a mediocre team - a good QB, below average RBs, average WR's, average defense with superior schematics & coaching. And they've been hampered by injuries all season.

Brees has the best tight end in Jimmy Graham but Brees has had several games with many poor decisions, bad throws & interceptions. Way more than ever since joining the Saints.
We'll only know if I'm right about Romo if he ever plays for a real coach. As for Rivers, his mechanics are & always have been atrocious & Norv the great offensive genius just let him be. Rivers is probably beyond repair.

He has many seasons where he has thrown Double digit Picks, but in 2010, he threw 22 of them with Peyton on the sidelines. I highlighted them since this site doesn't make all the lines fit right, but those numbers in bold are his picks since he went to NO. He is a gunslinger just like Farve was. I would say he made way more bad decisions that year than this. he has thrown 7 in the past 2 weeks. if not for that, he might of been on his way to the least amount of picks he has thrown in a season.I have had him on one of my fantasy teams every year since he went there and i can tell you he is no where near as bad as he was in the year he threw 22 picks. Not even close
And i will agree to disagree, but there is no way the whole steelers defense and offense is just mediocre and its Tomlins great coaching that make them great. That is TOTAL BULLSHIT. As for the defense, Lebeau is called a genious cause of players like Harrison, and Troy. Cmon you think Rex is a genious cause he coached Ed reed and Ray lewis in their prime? It is the same thing. The scheme only works if you have the players to do it, and if they are mediocre, then it does not work. Buddy Ryan was called a genius, but if he didn't have Dent, Hampton, Singletery, Wilson,Marshall,Plank, it would of never worked. it just wasn't the same in Philly cause he didn't have all the parts he needed.
-

Not a chance im taking Eli over Ben and as for Wallace wait untill he plays a full season in New England with Brady throwing him the deep ball then come talk to me .
Brown & Wallace both made the Pro Bowl last year with Wallace being a starter at WR.
RB's below Avg. - I agree
superior schematics ? if it was that easy every team would do it , you have to have the right players to do it.
And how about Tomlin having a hand in forcing out Bruce Arians as offensive coordinator ? How's he doing in Indy ?
-
Pezz, trying to figure out those stats is pretty rough. The one thing that jumped out at me that you didn't hi-light was his completion %, which is down anywhere from 3%-11%, at 61%. When I've watched him this year, I see a noticeable difference from previous seasons & allot of bad decisions. Is it coincidence? I doubt it.
As far as Tomlin making the Steelers "great", they are not great - they are 7-5. With an inferior coach they'd be 4-8, maybe 5-7, IMO. Once again, to remind you, there are only a handful of coaches who've won the Super Bowl. The winner's list is Belichick, Coughlin, McCarthy, Shanahan & Tomlin. Do you really believe it's ONLY players & not coaches? THAT is "total bullshit".
I've watched the Chargers regress from 14-2 with Norv, the Eagles "Dream Team" go down the drain, Buffalo become the next "great team" & the Cowboys tread water - all with superior players, getting paid big money. At the same time, the 49ers became a force without Singletary & teams like NE, Bal, Pit, NYG, Chi & GB all remain perennial playoff teams, no matter who they have to replace as long as it's not coach or QB.
Gazoo, Eli & Ben are different QBs & I've always favored pure passers. Eli is a far superior pure passer - he makes throws Peyton can't make. On the other hand Ben stays alive & jukes DBs like no one else can. But his passing skills are average at best. Their WRs are certainly below average this year.
I'll ask you both this: How does a team who has had so many injuries & personnel problems get to 7-5 in this era of well-matched teams if not for superior coaching?
-
Watching the Bears game. Cutler looks pretty sharp today but the recievers have drop-itis. Not a Bears fan, but sure is impressive how good Forte & Marshall are. I they had an O line that could give enough time to let the play develope they would be scary good.
-
Now Cutler takes a shot to the head and is out of the game. He just got back after a concussion a couple of weeks ago.
-
Tomlin proved it once again today shootme
-
It was nice to see my Cowboys win, but a bit of a nail-biter.
-
And Dolfan please don't ever tell me what a great coach Tomlin is again , he got out coached by Norv Turner !!!
Pittsburgh scored and had a chance to cut the game to 16 but kicked the XP instead , they media asked Tomlin why he didn't go for 2 and he said he didn't want to put the 2 point play on tape slaphead (would have loved to have seen Pitt get the onside kick with a min. left )
The media asked then why was Ben still in the game ? he said they were still trying to compete slaphead

Brutal. I admit my favorite team outside of Chicago is the Steelers. Not sure who is worse, Lovie or Tomlin.

Its pretty Close. The only game I think the bears will win that they have left is the Cards, which means 9-7 and Maybe just maybe, Emery will be allowed to hire his own coaches. I Will be the happiest bear fan around once Lovie is gone. In his post game Presser today he said, and I quote" We just ran out of time"! Are you f**king kidding me??
