So I am sitting in LAX waiting for a 4pm flight to get me back to Sacramento...arrives at 5:20pm and I have about an hour after that to get to Cal Expo to make the 2nd race. Stanza drew the rail in a 5-horse field, with 2 of them coming off of qualifiers after shipoing in from the east. I would think you will see Stanza make a quarter move to the top and then try to bring it home from there. Scott Ehrlich's horse Red Star Popeye is next to us, and moves up from the 6 claimer. He is a tough horse and I expect it to be hard to hold him off, but we will see. Albion comes in from Chester where he was in 12,5-15 claimers. I expect he will need a start, and of course his times look like they blow our horses away, but the Cal Expo dirt track is much slower than the tracks back east so I don't think he is a stand out at all. I am looking from a good effort from Stanza.
Yiannoulas Boy drew the tougher half of the same race, as the 6 claimer did not fill and he had to move to the 10 claimer. Of course, Shoot The Works gets the rail, and we get the 6-hole. Once again, YB will be a victim or beneficiary of the pace, but I know he will come home in :27, it just depends what eveyone else in fron of him is able to come home in. I think the odds will be about 8-1, and I will take a nice shot on him. He is possibly the hardest trying horse I have ever owned.
Good luck with all your plays!
