LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky racing regulators have cleared trainer Steve Asmussen of abuse allegations made by an animal-rights group that claimed it had videotape evidence that thoroughbreds in his care were mistreated.
Kentucky Horse Racing Commission Chairman Robert Beck said Thursday that commission staff found no evidence to support claims by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. The commission's report says outside veterinarians who reviewed the same evidence found nothing to support PETA's claims.
