I haven't been there I have only talked to some horsemen that have been.  They said it is a 1st class track and facilities.  Don't know about the grandstand section but from the pics it looks like they did it right!!!  Thinking about going this weekend to check it out.

There was certainly some arguing by the track and the ORC before the track was built on the grandstand requirements, however eventually the track offered a suitable solution.

I was there before they finished it, and I have to say if the horseman have anything bad to say about it they are nuts. People from Toledo will think they died and went to heaven

Considering the race conditions and fields (mostly from Scioto classes), it doesn't appear that too many horses from Raceway will be racing there.

The only bitching I've heard about the track is that it's really loose. I would expect it will tighten up real soon though when the rains hit.

you can see that the track is loose.  it will tighten up .  I think the track was built on "hurry up" mode.  Horses , water and equipment on it will help it tighten up.

I did go Saturday, really disappointed with the layout, The upstairs was packed and no room for the betting lines, getting from one end to the other was a task. Programs are sold at the snack bars which cost 9.76 for a hot dog and soft pretzel. The main simulcast area has a real nice tv wall but seats less than 50 or so. Tellers were new and if you did not know how to use an automatic machine you were toast. No pools as usual in these parts, pick 4 pool had 264.00 (which I did hit for 88.00) on a 12.00 $.50 ticket. Track is playing extremely easy, if it stayed this way I would retire, speed is golden. I did get even money on Meirs after betting 200.00 to win. You know its easy if I am betting 200.00.

I laughed at this too Bettor, but damn even money on Meirs against that field was stealing. Nice work Jack. Don't think you'll get better than 2/5 this week though.

I am certain he will be short, but not as short as Dancin Yankee in the opener......he can spot them 15 and beat them!
