Chip Noble has passed away
« on: January 13, 2014, 07:19:13 AM »
One of Ohio's all-time greatest harness horsemen, Chip Noble III has passed away. He had be suffering from esophageal cancer for the past several months.

Chip was pure class. He was an old school horseman who never believed in doping horses or whipping them more than a time or two during a race. He always said after the second crack of the whip, you are just wasting your time and making the horse mad. Chip was also the kind of driver who could get a lot of starts from your horse because he was not the run and gun style driver of today-he would let the boys up front burn their horse out and sweep past them and collect the money at the end of the race.

He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.  bowdown bowdown

Always had a kind word for me, and a class gentleman. A true loss to harness racing.

One reason I loved the Hawthorne winter meet so much was cause there was easy money to be made

the 1st couple of weeks betting Chip, he always had his stock ready and classified and was always on

my tickets. Hell of a horseman and person. RIP  redrose

The absolute best 2 year old driver in the history of Ohio racing.  There was never a doubt he was going to take care of your baby and put them in a good spot to hit the board and come out clean and ready for the next start.
