I still say Homers horse was not affected one bit  noway What fired me up was Doms explanation of the

DQ, he said by the entry mate breaking the winner gained an unfair advantage and would be placed 4th.

Now if he had said from the beginning that the 1 made Homer check and caused Magee to break then I

say well if they think that OK. Then about 15 mins after the race T. Kelley has the article posted on the

USTA website with a whole different story of the DQ, they take longer than that to post the results !

Tell me when was the last time an entry got taken down in IL because of the other part causing

anything ? Unless you bet 2 bucks or less a race you're better off setting your money on fire than you

are wagering on IL harness racing.

Needless to say I was home so I didn't hear the explanation given. I've never had much confidence in the Balmoral stewards over the years as consistancy has been a problem in the past. As far as lighting my cash on fire..a leopard doesnt change his spots so I'll be back at it next saturday as usual mixing in some top notch races at Mohawk.

I'm with Mags and Hal on this one, definitely think they got the call right. The 1 breaking causes the 2 horse to take up which made the 4 run up the back of him and cause him to break.

This reminds me a lot of when Check Me Out broke and caused Maven to go offstride in the Hambo Oaks, we had a nice heated debate with the Skipper on that one too and I believe he was ready to bet all his winnings for the day there wouldn't be a dq.  rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1 Good times!

And SOME people think you're the smarter of the brothers.  noway

So, it is easy to say that Homer "overreacted" by checking his horse when  the 1 broke.   When a horse breaks in front of you and is going sideways, I bet he saw his life flash before his eyes.  I don't blame him a bit for being cautious.   Homer's horse does not interfere with anyone if the #1 doesn't break.  Maybe some need to work on their visual acuity.  As for the slams on IL racing it has become so old hat I just ignore it now.  If anyone wants to feel superior because they flush hundreds or thousands away at some other sewer, so be it.

The worst call was the Odds on Equiless DQ... This was the correct call...

Hal we don't all win EVERY SINGLE TIME we gamble like you do, I guess you're right I'm blind and because

it happened at Balmoral it's acceptable  idunno

I disagree about this being the right call but I do agree on the OOE DQ being the worst. I don't think people

are understanding my stance on this call, you would have had to seen it in real time along with hearing the

explanation that Dom gave for the DQ. I was not betting I was going to play a P-4 and was just watching

to see how the track was playing so it had no effect on me.  Oh well it is what it is, typical IL BS.

I did see it in real time and as soon as it happened I thought there could be a DQ.  I did bet and I had the 1 on all tickets, if you watch the 2 horses were caused confusion..

 rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1 rflmao1 I'm  down $5000 this year.  Those damn $2 bets sure ADD UP IN A HURRY!!

I  don't always agree with the judges at Balmoral or any other track for that matter. But, you know what?  They don't give a hoot if I agree with them or not. Bad calls are not acceptable at any time.  That call was not a bad one.  It was exactly what I would have done if I was a judge. I should step up my donations to my buddy Gov. Quinn, maybe I can become one.  Hell, maybe I should donate to Christy in NJ and I could be a judge at the Big M.!!!!

Just watched the replay. That's when of the worst calls I've ever seen. No interference at all. Davey broke all by himself. Total bs call.

Hey wanna ride with me to the eye Dr ? If you watch the replay below all the way through they show

different angles and IMO Magees horse breaks the same time Taylors horse does. It was a judgement

call which I understand but Dom didn't explain it as being interference and I challenge anyone to post

the last time they used this rule. I'm done with this thread and whether they made the right call or not

the way it was handled was total BS.  Daveys horses head was cocked that whole turn and wanted out

but he wouldn't let her go.

I remember Northfield a few years back had a horse break (i think it was air mcnair) during the race after it looked like it got interfered with.  An inquiry came up and the judges said there was no interference but the race chart showed an interference break.  I emailed the judges at the advice of the Giss and they said they were giving the horse the benefit of the doubt.  Weird explanation in my opinion.
