Nfld & Ron Wrenn
« on: January 07, 2013, 09:45:02 PM »
Has anybody else noticed that Wrenn virtually never wins unless he is on top or 1st over?

I know you can joke that nobody wins other than on the lead but I see Page & Smith win plenty of times in the 2 hole or off cover but Wrenn, almost never.

I've seen him win plenty of times (by Northfield standards) second over or farther back.

Like all drivers, he seems to get into a funk at times when he thinks he must be on the front. However I think the kid is a good driver who can either be on top or come from behind.

It is hard for young kids. One day Wrenn was winning everything at Northfield, then along comes Page, Aaron, and Tyler, and he suddenly has competition.

So far, 5 wins this year - 1 from a covered position, which he won by 12 (Gunmedal...).

Speaking of outstanding drivers, I bet Tyler is pouting tonight. He gets all pissy when he doesn't win races-especially when he is second and third....and I love that about the kid!

Nfld is unusually interesting right now with these new, young drivers.  I don't know if any of them will be long-term winners on "A" tracks.  I certainly thought Matt Kakaley would be making a little more noise by now and so far none of these young guns look as good as Matt did at Nfld.

By the way Gary, Tyler did end up winning 2ice although Chris Page was the star tonight.

I love all these young'ens.  Chris, Tyler, Ronnie.  These are the best young drivers I've seen come up in a long time and you will hear from all of them.  Nothing hones driving skills like driving lame , crazy, lazy, cheatin horses at Northfield.  Throw in the rest of the questionable driver/trainers?????? up there and these kids will be alot smarter when they leave there.

5 Nfld wins this week - 4 on the lead, 1 first over.  Still no wins from a covered position - not even from the pocket.

In the meantime Chris Page winning from everywhere.

agree --- when Dave Miller used to win with three legged horses, you knew he was going to be could..... Life would be great to drive a Cadillac all your life, but most Ohioans grow up driving a pinto with bad breaks, no exhaust and the chance that it could blow up in your face at anytime. You get that kind experience, your ready for something bigger and better.

That is because I haven't been watching.
