Officials at Harrah's Philadelphia Casino and Racetrack have released the 2013 live racing schedule (pending PHRC approval), with the 150-day season slated to begin on the evening of Friday, March 8.
While the Opening Night card will commence at 6:30 p.m., first post through both the 115-day Spring-Summer meet and the 35-day Fall meet will generally be 12:40. The Spring-Summer meet begins with the Opening Night program and continues through Sunday, September 22. Live racing will regularly occur on Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday afternoons, along with special Monday cards for Memorial Day and Labor Day and a trio of 2:30 first-post Saturday cards in conjunction with the Thoroughbred Triple Crown.
The Fall meet will run from Thursday, October 10 to Tuesday, December 17, and will operate mostly on a three-day-a-week schedule. In October and November, live racing will take place on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday afternoons at 12:40 p.m. with the addition of five 2:30 p.m. programs (three Wednesday afternoons, plus Breeders Cup weekend--November 1 and 2), and in December, live racing will take place on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday afternoon.
