It must be your computer.  hammerhead1
You can take this thread down. I only started it because I couldn't access the original. Puter's back working again. Get well soon Dave.

In addition to sharing the hopes that the driver are OK, I ask this:  Why did the judges not declare the race no contest?  Why did they allow the results to stand?  Is this something that is at the discretion of the judges or is there some official rule about the number of horses to actually finish the race, etc.?

Not sure what the rule is, but I would not punish the bettors who had the winning numbers. I would never ever ever make a race a non-contest. No sense alienating the few bettors we still have left.

Thanks Gary. I'd never try to derail somebody else's thread, but my puter wouldn't let me access the original. It's slowly getting back to where it was before. Glad it wasn't ruined in the storm.

At the beginning of the broadcast of the Meadows Live racing show on Tuesday at 12:30 pm, announcer Roger Huston reported that he spoke with Bethann Palone, wife of driver Dave Palone, shortly before going on the air and she reported that her husband was up and walking around in his room at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh.

Bethann Palone told Huston that x-rays of her husband's shoulder and neck were negative, but that he was still in severe pain in the neck area and more tests are likely.
