Chapter Seven Shows Weakness
« on: September 07, 2012, 06:05:55 PM »
Chapter Seven, the top dog on the Hambletonion/BC Poll, suffered a blow to his credibility in tonight's Credit Winner trot at Vernon. After loafing through a middle half in 58.1, Tetrick couldn't hold off Hot Shot Blue Chip, driven by Corey Callahan. Herbie finished fourth in the four horse field.

Hot Shot set a TR for aged geldings--51.2--as he came home in 26.3 to hold off Chapter Seven.

The winner went off at 9/1. Chapter Seven was 1/2 and Herbie 3/2. Arch finished third at 11/1.

It's noteworthy that despite accumulating almost a million dollars in earnings, prior to last night, Hot Shot had never won a stakes race. He's started in more than two dozen--from the BC to the Nat Ray to the Maple Leaf--but not one win.

You look like a typical Browns fan, instead of rooting for Goo Goo to win you are rooting for others to beat Chapter Seven.

I understand completely what Linda Toscano is saying. Race horses aren't race cars, and they have their own way of racing. I had a FFA pacer that loved being on the engine and would light up when a horse got in his ear. My best ever trotting filly/mare liked sitting 5th-8th until the last qtr. When you tipped her she would start picking them off, one by one, and get braver after each she passed. The problem pops up when you can't get the trip for your horse. Chapter Seven, Linda, and Tim will be just fine.

i often see strange things happen in small fields in both harness and tbreds.

close friend of mine prefers small fields when betting while the bigger the better for me
the bigger the field the better the chance for an honest pace imo

You look like a typical misinformed person an a forum.

Thats about who was DRIVING the horse.

Not a shred about goo.
Not even a thought of that till right this second.

And I am rooting  hard for Market share tonight and next week.

You assume I care about the top 10 or something?

Come on Jeremy.

If every time I make a post ona forum I have to discuss this. I really may have to retire.
No Jeremy thats sarcasm so you cant make me leave.

Goo is off.  Then will have 2 basicly training miles at Rosecroft.
He has nothing to gain.  If he wins he gets no credit.
If he was to happen to break and lose he would be ridiculed.

Then the Matron.

I dont think he is trying to move up in the polls or make the horse look good or anything.

Hes resting and taking care of his beloved animal.
And pointing to a very nice 4 year old season.

As I have said before I am lucky to live close to the horse so I will by default be at those 3 races. And I do hope he wins.
But the colonial was the big one for me.
If he were to lose any of those Id not be upset.
And I am a  lilcheerleader for CC as much as the horse.
Another hometown boy doing good.

You race a horse enough he will lose.
Even lose to a horse that pays 20 dollars.

No sir.

Happy for the connections of the winning horse.

Was a great race though for a 4 horse race.

I dont think Ive ever wanted a horse to lose. Well maybe some of the bad guys here localy. But I would never even discuss that on line.

I  hope Market Share gets horse of the year. And isnt it the same connetions as chapter 7?
