Hi Mo...So we have a new operator for Cal Expo now so the state is not running the meet anymore!  lilcheerleader. Ben Kenney and Chris Schick in partnership with a European group will conduct the meet now. Ben and Chris will handle the operations of the racing while Watch and Wager will handle the simulcast during the day. There is a new wagering called Exchange wagering? that has passed in California. I'm not familiar with the new wagering but I know Mark would know better than I. Our meet will open up November 2nd and run for 6 months and we will have 6 months of no racing. Alot of the California guys raced at Running Aces in Minnesota this year and the trucks are loading up and bringing the horses home as I speak. I sent 2 horses out to Minnesota with great results.So cant wait for the kids to come home for a badly needed break before the meet meet starts. The track will now be called Golden Bear Racing!

Is Jack Nicklaus going to be there opening night? I don't know if he is a harness fan, but being an Ohio native, he might  be.

Glad to hear that racing will continue in California. What will the purse structure look like? How Many nights a week will they race?

Racing will only be on Fridays and Saturdays until 2012 meet ends in December.  When 2013 meet starts in December, we will race Thursday, Friday, Saturday.  Purse structure is listed on Cal Expo website.  It's somewhat similar to where we ended up last season, maybe a little less.  But the hope is that we can get a racing circuit going with Minnesota, and we will get some of their folks out here this season.  We are slated to end May 25th next year, right before Running Aces opens.  I think we will have a full contract with TVG, no reason why they shouldn't be showing all our races considering we start at 9pm eastern.  So we can be optimistic for now that we will have a product that people are interested in betting on.  I guess we will see!
