Gov. Quinn gets played again.
« on: August 13, 2012, 02:29:04 PM »
Motorola Mobility threatened to leave IL because of Quinnochio's huge tax increases. They build Motorola phones. So Quinn gives them a $10 million tax break; today they announced they are going to shed 4,000 jobs.

We are tens of billions in the red and the Mental Midget gives away $10 mil & 4,000 jobs.

Google recently bought Motorola Mobile unit out. The company has been losing a ton of money and these recently announced job cuts are supposed to stop the leakage. I'm surprised Google kept the manufacturing plant in Illinois to begin with.

Chicago Mayor Rahm Emmanuel (Obama's former Chief of Staff) boasted that he got Motorola to move from the burbs into the city. Then Motorola sent out a press release that they were going to fire 700 people from their suburban office before they moved in. Kinda left "Rahmbo" hanging there with alot of egg on his face. GOOD!

Meanwhile, the taxpayers of IL (rapidly dwindling) still get stuck for $10 million. 4pezz2

Of the 4,000 jobs being cut, the vast majority are overseas. Only about 1,000 in the US (still a huge number, but a lot different than 4,0000
And doesn't make Quinn or Rahm look any better.

700 of them from the Chicago office. Great deal for the IL taxpayers... we are only out $10 mil to lose 700 jobs. PLEASE make me the same deal, Gisser. I'll find a way to fire 700 people for half that.

Just saw Quinn walk out of a McDonalds (don't judge me!) out my way. Just read he's giving a speech in Elgin later.

No big deal I know but I was shocked that he got into the back of what looked like an old Chevy Chevette. It all happened fast as I was pulling into the parking lot as he and his posse were walking out. There were three others - one driver in his car and two others who got into what looked like an unmarked police car.

I still can't believe that was his ride. I know we're broke in IL but that was pathetic.
