Just wondering because im not a trainer and dont claim to be. Dont you think it is taking alot out of the horse shippinng back and forth? Why not just stay up in Canada.
Cash, It depends alot on the horse. Some haul good and some wear themselves out rocking the trailer around. Also, some hate being away from home. My best ever trotting filly was great when shipped-in, but if she had to be away from home she wouldn't eat, drink, or sleep... hence race like sh*t. Some haul good and don't give a damn where they're at. Fillies tend to be alot more affected. imo
Also, if trainers have one they think is "special" they really like to keep a close eye on them instead of delegating the care out to someone else.
