Hint this horse was a terror that couldn't be handled by two trainers, yet turned to a pussy-cat under this driver.

Delaware is correct.

It's just a 1943 photo and looks quite different than today.

Thanks for stabbing at the others.

The tents throw people off.

I've some 1940s pics of Northville Downs and they used the large tents for paddocks.

Neva Burright already had grown children when this young set a world's record.

The meanest sombitch I was ever around was Nevele Pride, but I don't remember him being as big as the horse in the picture. He was scary mean. When he won the Hambo @ DuQuoin they had him stabled alone with flashing barricades to keep the public from getting near him. He would've killed somebody.

Just,
I've a pic somewhere with Pride in a paddock with those signs all over the place.

A muse for you and another similar horse.

About a week ago somebody from Dayton, began searching the website for "Red Sails".
Since all my nearly 600 pages are not completely listed at the search engines yet, this person was trying to go through the site page-page (guess he/she wanted Red Sails bad).

I actually don't have much info on Red Sails, however do have a Sept 1982 HB's article by Dean Hoffman that is not online.

In any event, I stopped the Dayton person from viewing additional pages and referred all his requests to a contact page. Two days ago I even simplified the pages and it BIG LETTERS across the top "What are your looking for"

He/she simply refuses to submit a request form.

after he/she read the "What are your looking for" he did a Bing search on Red Sails that confirms his original search.

This person has been going through web pages from the 20's, 30's and 40's and all he/she has to do is contact and he/she could have the Red Sails article .
 Go figure.

Nevele Pride was vicious until the day he died. I read an article in HB that interviewed the farm mgr that stood him. His appraisal of NP was, "He don't smile much." He went on to say that that they could only "live cover" with him because he was too dangerous to get near to collect semen, and that was only on days he wanted to be caught. They used 2  10ft 'bull poles' with hooks to snag his halter and aim him to the breeding stocks, then turn him loose to got back out after breeding. He wasn't any better when I stabled near him his 3yo year.

Didn't mean to derail your thread.
