Can't drink any during Passover, anyhow and the kid just brought back some really nice ones from Astor Wines and Liquors in NYC. Now, the guy who invents Kosher for Passover whiskey...that guy will become a millionaire.

My next DRF Harness column runs the Derby week. Here is a snippet-

Column Aside- As an avowed bourbon snob, the one bad thing about the Derby is this conflagration known as the mint julep. Even worse is that a quality, albeit overpriced, bourbon like Woodford Reserve would embrace such a travesty. Good bourbon is quaffed straight, on the rocks or with a splash of branch water. Cheap bourbon needs to be cut with sugar and mint. And that comes from someone who grows enough mint to cover everyone in Louisville, and most of Frankfort and Lexington.

(Hopefully Ms Hollar is taking notes)

Looks like we need to teach you about real American Whiskey . Could not agree more about the stogie, though.

It's hard to teach a beer drinker anything!   I rarely touch the harder stuff; has to be a special occasion.

I tend to drink bourbon neat or at times mixed with coke.  Woodford Reserve is just fine.  I've been to the distillery a few times along with several other places.  The Bourbon Trail, you can't beat it.  I also like Buffalo Trace and Maker's Mark.  My kids usually buy me some fancy single barrel stuff that is 15-20 years old for Christmas,it's very good but at $60 a pop, you can't drink it all the time. Hell, I bought a 1.5 liter bottle of Old Crow to drink with coke and it works just fine!  I always stock up when in Kentucky because the prices are less than around here. I'm not a fan of mint julips.
